Do you eat five vegetables a day?

People generally say that we must eat at least five types of vegetables per day to get good health. Any way, we add tomato, onion for many dishes. Then three more like potato, capsicum, peas etc. are also added to many dishes. So I do not think there is any problem in eating five vegetables per day. Do you eat five vegetables per day? What do you think about it?

i think it is very healthy to eat 5 vegetables a day and it is great if you do it but unfortunately i dont like many vegetables but i do like fruits. so i take vitamins instead to make up for my lack of vitamins that vegetables should give me.

No doubt vitamins are supplements. But taking them in the natural form is better is it not friend? Please take whatever vegetable you can bear to eat. Thanks.

Thank you so much for the detailed response. It covered everything. As you say we can try soup, salad, which will definitely cover few vegetables. Since I am diabetic, I am not supposed to eat more fruits per day. Only one fruit or half like that. So I give importance to vegetables as many as possible.

wow, it not easy to eat five vegetables in a day, except when you cook it together, it will more five kind of vegetables. fruit yes i can take more than five kind a day:)

You are correct. You cannot have five different dishes of vegetables. You have to cook together.

Ohh..Yes definitely difficult to think of cooking five vegetables for a day...Ohh you wud end up getting so tired and exhausted...Moreover 5 vegetables don't you think its too much...Good idea to have all of them together but still I wont prefer as it would count on the taste of the blunder made out of mixing the 5....Definitely fruits one must have different types everyday...

I think I can't eat vegetables a day as it seems there are a lot for our family. Usually we will have rice, a kind of vegetable and meat or fish for a meal. I think eating more vegetables will be healthy. It is no doubt for it.

I feel unknowingly itself more vegetables go inside our system. I do not know whether you add onion, tomato to your cooking. We add them to many dishes. Then capsicum, peas, and other seeds vegetables like peas for ex. double beans, they are also added to the dishes. In this way may be you too are eating good lot of vegetables. Fish also is an item with good qualities in it. Thanks for responding.

Hello dear friend. I think that I do not always eat five different kinds of vegetables a day. But I can eat at least three different kinds at least. Yeah, it is good for us to eat different kinds of vegetables as they can offer us different vitamines that our body needs. Thanks for responding to my old discussions, my dear friend. Happy posting.

I think it's not necessary to count your vegetables every day. If you can eat various foods in a period of time so that your body won't lack some nutrients, you would be healthy.
