How do you get a photo to be your avatar on myLot?

i prefer not to use an avatar. You can save a picture in your "paint" program. Be sure it is saved with either "jpeg" or other compatible files accepted by mylot. then go to your profile "edit" preferences in mylot. you can find there the upload avatar, browse and select what you have saved in your computer.
