About 10 years ago i had my first experience with PC. I used it mostly for games, music listening and office documents editing. After 2 years of pc using i read in internet this magic word - defragmenting. I was in a little bit shock when i read that defragmenting must be done often to keep my pc running at normal speed. i started to use windows disk defragmenter. It was fine until i read somewhere on internet forums that windows disk defragmenter is not so goot at all and there is much better tools freeware/software which can defrag my pc disk drives faster and better. I tried several programs and now i am happy with www.defraggler.com offered free disk defragmenting tool called Defragler. I could be very interesting for me to know how myLot users defragmenting their disk drives and what programs use to keep pc speed up:)

I use Raxco PerfectDisk 8 and it seems to speed up my computer nicely.

PerfectDisk is not free, but Auslogics is free and it works well. http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/disk-defrag

oh, yes i know about ayslogics disk defragmenter :) i used it before my current software - piriform defragler. it was nice too, but reason why i choose piriform defragler was because i allready am a long time user and fan of piriform CCleaner. Also i would like to recommend to you piriform recuva tool. the only thing i dont like in these piriform products, like CCleaner is that when installing them sometimes i forgot to uncheck "make yahoo yor default web search engine" line.

there are lots of disk defragmenting software in the internet. I use the Tune Up 2008 in my PC. It does not just defrag my pc but rather optimize it by checking the system, registry and memory thus improving my pc and even optimize my internet connection.

the only thing i have heard of new tunep is that it is soft against registry and fast. i used Tuneup 2 years ago, but after using it there was some problems on my pc, so i uninstalled it from my PC system.

Thanks a lot for the information. I just use my computers defrag system. Seems to work for me. What I hate is when my kids play all these games and the computer gets so slow it isnt worth anything. Takes forever to get it back going.
