Can I Make Money On Helium?

A lot of people here have a resounding no. However, I feel that the answer is yes! Part of it really has to do with how much you want to put into it to get out of it. Helium, however, is a great way to set up a passive income. I get paid from them each month whether or not I put more work into it. I have written a lot of articles there (especially while the reward-athon is going on). I don't get paid a ton of money, however I do get paid each time my articles are viewed. Each month I watch my pennies add into dollars. It I continue to write like I am, those dollars will grow. Some months, I don't write at Helium at all, but my pennies still grow into dollars and I make money from the work that is already done. Can you do better elsewhere? Maybe, but I write for a bunch of sites with the idea of putting together a passive income. If you have a lot of sites that pay you while you aren't there, that is good news. I usually find it easy to write for Helium. All you have to do is pick a title in an area you know something about or have something to say and write. It is simple and effective. Okay, now you can add your two cents and questions!

I bookmarked your personal link in my favorite places. After seeing all of these articles and comments on how people are making money on Helium I am going to check it out. I make quite a bit on Associated Content already though. I have written 14 articles and have made $33 in upfront pay, plus almost $8 in views. That is not including views for 3 of my articles because it hasn't been updated yet. They paypal for views when you reach $15, I will have that soon. I only claim articles that I don't have to research a whole lot and can write in an hour. I am thinking of trying it (Helium) out and comparing the two. How much do you have to make to get payout? Do they use paypal? My husband has started writing for AC too, so if I like Helium then I will give him the site as well.

They pay when you reach $25. You don't get upfront pay like you do with AC (which I also use). However, because of their set up, often it is easy to whip out several articles very quickly. They also have a marketplace where real publishers are looking for articles and weekly contests (1st place is 75, second 25, third 10 and fourth through sixth 5 each). If you are good in the contests you can make a lot. Good luck.

I'm more optimistic about making money on Helium not with this new promotion than I ever was with the contests. I earn about $1 a month from my 30 something articles, with little or no promotion. If I write a lot more articles, and do a little promoting, I could realistically double or that in the next month. Nothing to get excited about, but then maybe I'd reach payout before the end of this decade. It's tough because I simply don't have the time to devote to it that I want to. May I ask how many articles and how much promotion gets you to payout each month?

Before the Reward-athon began I had 130 articles and have reached payout twice since August. Two of my articles sold to publishers (unexpectedly since I don't write for the market place). They paid me ten dollars for each article and it still earns money each month. Right now I am making just over ten dollars a month. However, I normally only write 12-15 articles a month and I don't bother to promote them much. With this reward-athon I should jump that up quite a bit. It takes a lot of articles to make a significant amount of money from Helium, but I am confident that it can be done. It helps to find a niche market as well. I always watch and see which articles make the most money and then I write more in those topics. I have found that health and fitness make more money as do my craft articles. Hope this helps and from what I see you have a great start on Helium!

I don't write that often on Helium. I only have three articles and $.72. It is handy to have around though, because after I write a article, I don't have to do anything, and each day the money grows.

I have to agree with you. I write for Helium as well as here at Mylot.com and find that even when I am not around, I do make some money each day. My time is limited which kind of hurts because I enjoy writing since it is one of my top favorite things to do. I have written a book and self-publishing it on lulu.com as well. There are many great sites where you can write and get paid for it. I am glad that there is someone else around who says that Helium.com is a place to write and make money. Good going.

I have to say that I do make great money on helium, I have won a couple of the marketplace jobs and that has given me more money, I also write a lot of opinion pieces in the debate section because they bring in a lot of money, and I enter the weekly competition and have won once, so yes you can make a good amount of money from it. Another thing to know is while you only earn a cent or two from an article, means nothing because you earn that cent or two daily for the same article, some of my articles have made forty to sixty cents a piece already and still counting.

I do agree with what you said. I am a member of Helium too. Not that I have written countless articles, but it is fun to see the little passive income there too. It would be quite a long time before I will earn my first payment but I'll wait.
