Are you a smoker? Have you quit smoking? If you did, how did you do it?

I agree with you. I think if you want to quit, you just have to cold turkey. No trying to stretch it out or cut down slowly. Good luck to you also.

I'm afraid its not going very well and I feel bad because my son is really on me to quit. I was doing well for awhile. I had cut back quite a bit, but then I went back to my normal smoking pattern.

I have never smoked before, I tried it in school once but i mean I never got addicted. Why can't anybody just put them down and say thats it! Its as easy as grounding yourself... All you haveto to do is leave them alone, pretend that you cant get them anywhere...

Thats really good that you haven't smoked, but believe me even though your words have a sage effect, its easier said than done.

I quit cold turkey. It wasn't as hard as I thought. Any time I get the urge to buy a pack I think about the amount of money I would spend and instead,I put it towards a vacation for my son and I...he wants to go to Disney :)

Thanks for your response. That was a very creative way of motivating yourself. I wish I had that kind of discipline.

Thanks for your response. My 11 year old son wants me to quit and that ought to be reason enough, but I've been smoking since I was 14 and I'm 48 now. I've never wanted to quit until now and it is VERY difficult.
