For me salsa is a food group all on its own, so that is how I get tomatoes, especially in the winter. I love4 to buy frozen mixed berries, and I buy the whole cranberries and make different kinds of cranberry sauce to eat as accompaniment to meats. I love sweet red pepper strips on sandwiches when we cannot get decent tomatoes.

I'm right there with you on the salsa! I'll have to try red pepper strips on my next sandwich, that is something I have never tried!

That was another one of my experiements on sliced turkey, as in the winter tomatoes just do not have the color or flavor.

We do our best to eat red. There is always 100% cranberry juice in the house, 100% pomegranate juice, radishes, try to buy tomatoes - it is really hard to find a good tomato around here, and red and orange beets. If I knew what to do with it, I would probably buy rhubarb as well. I didn't realize all those were good for your urinary tract, I just thought cranberry juice was. Learn something new everyday! :)

I eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables all year long. I try to eat whatever fruit and veggies are in season. In winter, I eat a lot of apples. I love all the fruits and veggies you listed. In our home we dont even have to think about it. We know we get the reccomended amount of both fruit and veggies.

we are very fond of all the foods you mentioned and they are a regular part of our diet. One thing we have recently begun taking is the pomegranate juice and tea (yes we love the fruit too but it is not always available to us) the only red foods I personally do not tolerate is foods that have red food dye added to them, the taste of the dye is over bearing to me

I love watermelon I eat it every summer in mass quantity, I also love cherries and usually if I have watermelon and cherries at the same time I usually make a fruit salad.mmmmm.. I'm starting to get hungry. Red peppers are put into my speghetti salad and red potatoes go with my potatoe salad and are the base of my pierogies and mashed potatoes.LOL!! Cranberries are alway drank as a juice in my house. I was drinking cran rasberry juice just this morning and now I think I'm going to get another glass. have a nice day.

I must say, red is my favorite color, and when it comes to food there's no exception. I love strawberries, apples, cranberries, cherries, and definitely watermelon. It's nice to know that so many lovely foods can be so good for you. I'm gonna' go on a shopping spree for some just because of this post. XD

I eat most of the reds listed in your topic but I very seldom eat red meat. I used to love a big steak but somehow I seemed to have lost my taste for it.

Beetroot or beets as they are called in the US are an amazing vegetable. They are great roasted, but even better is to have them pickled and used in salads. Even put them in your hamburgers. Have to say that when I had a hamburger with unpickled beetroot - it left allot to be desired for this Australian. Beetroot is also great juiced, combine with apple and carrot, or celery and beetroot. Yumm.

I love tomatoes and tomato sauces, red salsas, watermelon, cranberry JUICE, pomengranate JUICE, I can't eat cherries, beets I love , yes to red peppers, and NO to the last 4. I hope I eat enough red, I don't have the best diet, I tend to eat the same foods over and over and I know I need more variety. Thanks for posting this, crazynurse!
