Good news about my friend!

I just got a call from my friend that had been in a car accident this morning. She was just released from the hospital. Her chest and leg are really bruised up, and she's very very sore right now...enough so that the doctor prescribed pain killers for the pain. But there were no broken bones and no internal organs were damaged thankfully. I guess what happened was a one ton truck towing a trailer didn't stop at a one way stop sign, and turned right in front of her causing her to have to hit the brakes and that caused the car to skid and spin right into the side of the truck. Since the driver of the truck was the only one that had the stop, my friend was traveling at the legal speed limit, so she ended up hitting the truck hard enough that the hood of the car folded up almost through the windshield. I guess the driver was telling people that he stopped and that the accident was all her fault, but I'm sorry....if he had stopped like he said he did I honestly think that this accident wouldn't have happened. Anyway, my friend is doing ok, and she is now at home resting. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers....I KNOW they helped her immensely. Big hugs to all of you.

So glad to hear your friend is not in any danger. I bet she will be absolutely miserable tomorrow and the next day. Someone heard my prayers. Sounds like this could have been a much worse accident. Thanks for letting us know Sunnie is going to be fine.

I haven't heard from her today, and I don't know if she will make it to church tomorrow or not, but I'm sure she's pretty sore and still in bed. She's most definitely very lucky indeed. Thanks hon.

I'm glad to hear your friend alright. Sorry my other reply was so late. I hate one way stop signs. There are a lot in downtown Sac and when I go there (which isn't too often lately) I tend to slow down even when I have the right of way. I'm too worried someone will run the stop sign (just like in your friends case). :(

No apology is necessary hon. Yeah, I've come across a few of those stop signs on my way to UC Davis. I hate those intersections! I'm like you...I slow down anyway even when I don't have to stop.

Hi Katlady, I'm so glad to hear that your friend's okay. She must feel really thankful, despite the bruises etc. The truck driver has a lot of nerve, trying to blame your friend for what happened. He should just be grateful things aren't a whole lot worse. Take care.

She knows that she had angels watching out for her, and she's extremely thankful for it. I'm hoping she will be able to get the CHP report on Monday...I'd like to find out what they decided. Thanks so much hon.

Hey, hon... I came in a bit late cuz I'm giving a Brat party tomorrow... YAY! Glad your friend is doing okay, cuz that's scary stuff! And people who cause accidents always want someone else to take the blame... that way, they can go out and cause MORE trouble!! Hugs!

I hope you had fun at the party hon. Yeah, that guy that caused it I guess was really rude and obnoxious about the whole thing. I hope he gets reamed by the cops!

No matter what they try, the police have seen and heard it all before... they'll get him! The party was great, as always... its SO much fun to be with these Brats! We had all kinds of food, put some DM on the dvd player, danced around and got silly... not a stretch for any of us! We're planning a night out for the whole bunch of us because its been too long since any of us raised any h#ll... wherever we go, it will never be the same!LOL!

Happy to hear your friend is ok but she should really get ahold of a good lawyer to fight this guy who was clearly in the wrong cause he will continue to claim your friend was at fault just to avoid his insurance premium hike or being dropped.

Actually I think she has been in touch with a lawyer, but I haven't had much of a chance to find out if anything has come of it. When I do find out, I will let you know. Thanks so much hon.

I just replied to your other discussion about your friend...I'm glad you gave an update here and that nothing serious happened with your friend Sunnie...but I'm sure she's all shook up with it all. I sure wish charges could be pressed on the truck driver in any event...

She's still pretty shaken up. I just talked to her again, and she was close to tears because she was upset over her car being totaled. I don't blame her. She has to wait until Monday to talk to the CHP and find out what they decided. I'll let you know as soon as I find out anything.
