Is it over?

I have been a fan of the series since it started 2 years ago, and I was very angry to see the last few episodes aired to be re-runs. I have experienced series ending at the conclusion of a season, but never mid-season! This is an outrage! I demand an explanation!
Okay, sorry :P I just really want to know if you guys know anything about why new episodes stopped airing? Or maybe they just stopped airing here in Canada?

There is a writers strike going on. Most everything is in re-runs now.

Yeah, even so, there may be a long wait before new shows come out. If they had filmed some episodes before the writers strike started then they'll start showing it, but after those...they'll probably go back into re-runs. During Christmas everyone takes a break and whatever episodes the have, they'll show now. I don't think they'll cancel it, but with the strike (and no one willing to compromise) Hollywood is going be almost shut down for a while.

The show will start back January 31st. There are only four new episodes to air, then show goes dark until the writer's strike is over and new episodes are filmed. It's unlikely there will be new episodes for season three, and we'll have to pray there's a season four in the fall.

According to my TV listings (I'm in Canada as well) a new episode is going to be on Thursday. I'm waiting :). I have been a fan of this show since it started. I own the first and second season on DVD and have watched the seasons a few times. I can never get enough of the Winchester Boys :)

Season 3 has already been written and filmed! It should be back on the air on January 31st according to it's creator, Eric Kripke. The writer's strike is why they have been showing re-runs. I live in the US, so it's not just Canada. I love this show! I can't wait for the new ones to begin!
