Have anyone used the Sony 8GB memory card for PSP? Though that particular 8GB is not the high performance memory card (like the 4GB for PSP), I am just wondering whether it will work, fast access and stable for PSP. I am using PSP Slim. anyone care to comment? thanks.

I have a 8GB MSPDuo,and I already used its a half year.I am satisfied to its stability in use.about 6m/s writing speed and 10m/s reading speed, the performance was already enough for PSP,SONY is master the memory stick's core technologies after all.Appears newly 16GB's the read-write speed has the distinct enhancement(not high speed).

what? They have a 16GB now? Wow... that will be good. I can't wait for that. I was waiting for the 8GB, but now since they are coming out with the 16GB, I will just wait for it. Afterall, my current 4GB is serving me well.

That is the wise chioce. In the normal condition.the hight-capacity memory stick appears can force the low-capacity memory stick to cut the price,Now the 8GB MSPDuo price already the price reduced 25% after I purchase.

I don't think there's an MSPduo 8gb hispeed in the market today. if there are faster memory sticks created.. still waiting for the official hispeed 8gb sticks will be the best choice. (like the 4 GB sticks that has both normal and hispeed). just wait for these manufacturers to release their hispeed 8gb sticks. About 16gb wise decision: - hmm... think again. you see 16gb mspduo stick costs $300 bucks ! that's twice the price of your PSP! well if your rich and not the reasonable type... you'll probably get one. but i don't think that's a wise decision. The price is like having a 1 night stand with a hot chick ! ehehehe the only difference is, it's gonnabe with a PSP ehehehe. $300 bucks here in the Philippines is P13,000, so think again. Kind regards, Pupoy

Hi Cooldude, I havent tried using it but some of my friends told me that they have a problem with the 8G memory stick, it it much slower compare to 4G, I think sony is fixing on that issue for us to play and store more media and game files.

That's what I was thinking as well. I haven't seen any high performance 8GB memory stick in the market yet. It was a plain standard Sony memory stick.

What makes you believe its a "high performance memory card". If their the same type and brand then the only thing different is the capacity.

there is.. Sony Memory Card is divided into 2 type, the high performance (higher speed) and the standard. The first is very much recommended for PSP. As far as I know, the higher speed type has 4GB as its largest capacity.

I never knew that, I always assumed it was just a marketing ploy. Thanks for clearing that up, I will keep that in mind for future reference.
