I started to smoke when I was 16 years old since my dad was also a smoking maybe he is not a good model. From then on The new friends from college was also a bunch of smokers and we always smoke everytime me had a chance. Every new year I make a new years resolution and that always count the stop smoking thing and yaerly I fail. I really want to stop smoking and as of this year I only smoke twice, and i told my self that i will only smoke if there is an occassion since i always partner the alcohol and the cigarette. Do you think It is a good start?

I do think it's a good start. Only you know when you are really ready to stop smoking. My cousin wanted to stop too. She went to the doctor and they gave her some kind of medicine to help her stop. She was sick right at first but I think it was her body going through the withdrawals. It has helped her though. Good luck!

Quit smoking one day at a time. Do not concern yourself with next year, next month, next week or even tomorrow. Concentrate on not smoking from the time you wake up until you go to sleep.

It is a very good start. But you should have to be determined about it. When it reminds the scene and sense of a smoking at that time just tell urself that I have quitted the smoking. It is the human subconscious that reminds the pleasure which you have drawn from anything at around at any time. So it is natural that your subconscious will remind the same. But at that time just tell youself that I have quittted and I am not turning towards it. When a friend offers a smoke just avoid him and leave that place, because the smell of the smoke will again attract u to smoke and you can not deny the situation. So it is better to leave that place.

Well it is a good start but there is always the danger of not stopping. I don't think I could trust myself to be able to stop and start like that. I have only ever given up once. I did it cold turkey, no nicorettes, just plain stopped and I have never had another one since. I smoked for 20 years before that. I stopped by using the part of me that didn't want to smoke ever again, and the part of me that could stop. I don't have cravings, didn't put on weight and have saved a heap of money. I hope you succeed and I wish you luck.
