Well it was yet another typical Sunday for my wife and myself. Sundays are the only day off she has each week and as usual she worked her butt off cleaning the house. Oh I helped as well, but she works at her job 6 days a week, 12 hours a day and I try to get her to be lazy on Sundays but it never works. She scrubbed the bathroom toilet, sink, tub, vaccumed the whole house except my office. Ugghh! Did the wasj=hing of our clothes etc. But she did spend sometime working on MY jigsaw puzzle being lazy for awhile. So does your spouse/SO work around the house really hard omn their day(s) off? If you are a man do you help with the household chores at all? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Well, I'm a stay-at-home mom (for now)...and my husband doesn't do much on the weekend...unless I ask him to. He says it's his day to relax. But I grew up in a home where my father did all the cleaning which my mother would find it difficult to do (like clean the curtains and odd jobs around the house...things that needed fixing)on his day off. When I was working after marriage, I would do major cleaning on Sundays but my husband wanted me to relax and would repeatedly ask me to "chill". But I couldn't when so much cleaning had to be done. By the time I was done, I didn't have much time to relax...but I did get a little reading done.

I try to tell my wife that it's her day off to just sit and relax but that never works. She really enjoys doing this even on her day off. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!!

I work on Sunday only a couple of hours in the day. Most of the day we relax and spend the day quietly. Its my usual time to go grocery shopping in the early evening and my husband and I enjoy finding good deals.

Sundays are the only days my hubby and I get off. I usually get up and fix breakfast and start on the housework, he does help he likes to vacuum and mop which I hate so he does them. We usually spend the rest of the day after lunch being lazy or doing stuff in the yard when it is warm. But I am grateful for all the help he does do around the house.

It seems my part of the chores is the cleaning of the vac, mopping the kitchen, dining room, and bathroom. Also I have to clean the office as if the wife does it she moves things and I can't find them. HAHAHA!! A good man like myself. I was actually Mr Mom raising our children while my wife worked also. I have been having a lazy time recently as well. I am not well at the moment and feeling very low so I have not been doing as much. Still being a mum is a full time job and I don't have friends in the area and that's why I have been feeling low. Cleaning is very important and my husband does help me with it.

My husband has spent the day putting a new shadecloth on the pergola roof. The old one had lots of holes in it. We couldn't afford on of those fancy pergola rooves that are very much the fashion here. It is a biog job, especially in the heat, but my father is helping him. I had done three loads of washing, lots of dishes & some ironing. Hubby does help a little with household jobs, mainly vacuuming or cleaning the shower if he thinks I dont do it enough!

Does she liking doing chore? I really don't think so.She must have some interests. She spent her only day off just do the chore without shopping ,travelling, reading or something else. I think there is only one reason. She has to do.She loves you very much. So ,you are a lucky man. Make effort to help her and having something fun with her for the rest of the only holiday

This isn't all she did. You read too much into this post actually. She reads at night. She did some of my jigsaw puzzle. This was mainly about her doing household chores on her day off not doing nothing else. Re read this and you'll see that I did mention I help each and every day around the house. Ugghh! Sigh !! Thanks. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Sometimes on his days off hubby works on the cars all day, sometimes he does laundry and dishes. He can clean up a stove better than I can. He does not vacuum or dust. He has three to four days off per week. Works about 34 hours weekly. I work 55-65 hours weekly. I get lazy when I am off. I get on the internet.

When I worked I lazed around and drank on my days off. Then when I sobered up I started doing cleaning on my days off. Now I am so used to cleaning it's just another daily thing for me. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Lake Martin - A scene of Lake Martin in Louisiana
It was a lazy day yesterday! We slept late...till 9 am! That's late for me but any day that I can sleep without an alarm clock going off is a good day in my opinion! We (hubby and I) had a late breakfast and he watched TV for awhile as I checked email, and browsed online. We decided to go to neighboring town for an early dinner so just lazied around the house until mid afternoon. Then we showered and headed out to eat. I love lazy days but then I feel guilty too for not doing something constructive!

We both try to clean up the house and do errands on the weekends. I watch a few kids during the week and hubby works Monday thru Friday so the weekend is really the only time we have to get stuff done unless we want to go after work and we are usually too tired. We don't work really hard but we do try to make sure the laundry is done, the house is cleaned and the errands are taken care of. We do take some time to be lazy on the weekends too though.

No my husband is not domesticated and only on certain occasions will he offer a hand to help me with the housework (or is it the times I slam the doors and scream when they are not helping me hahaha) I know its not for everyone and I do accept that....Sometimes I leave the rubbish in the kitchen for two days and it starts to smell a little and then he gets the hint. I was fed up yesterday and very tired that I only made breakfast and lunch for me and my son - i wanted him to get off his butt and do something which he did once he never got any food HAHAHAHA man i can be a witch at times!

Hahahahaha!! Well we all need a rest now and then. And he needs to fend for himself as well at times. I'd stop making him meals totally until he started helping out a lot more. That's just me. HAHAHAHA!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Sometimes hubby will help out around the house on the weekends but if I'm feeling really lazy, neither of us end up doing much.

Grandpa Bob my husband works like your wife. He works two jobs and has weekends off. On his weekends off he goes to the family property. He goes and goes and goes. He does not do much around the house except taking out the trash but he does not have time. He leaves the house at 6am and gets home at 10pm eats dinner and goes to bed. He does that 4days a week then on Friday night we go out to dinner. Saturday and Sunday he is at the Ranch all weekend. I wish he would slow down but I do not think he would be happy.

I live many years on my own again now. Sometimes it would be nice to have some help cleaning the house. There is some ladies that just can not sit still for long... And there is some guys who have worse worries with the activities of their spouses than you do... This one for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-bCZ8KA1DE I live alone because I didn`t want to sing my ex guy done double crossed me a gain. So I clean the house myself. Haha. Happy mylotting!

I work a full time job and my wife is on disability. She has inflammatory arthritis and fibromyalgia. She has her good days and bad days. So I do help her around the house as much as I can and I do most of the cooking. I really like to cook and she doesn't so it has always been that way. She is the one that tries to get me to settle down on Sundays and be lazy. So my question is does it make you feel less of a man if you have to help out around the house? I know it doesn't me because I love my wife and anything I can do to help her not have pain I will do

Nope not at all. I was Mr Mom as I raised my 2 children while my wife brought home the bacon. That was for over 17 years also. So I am used to the household chores even to this day. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

not a chance. when either of us gets an off day we are spending it RELAXING all the way. We have to really encourage each other to do housework and usually we do it together just to make it less painful. i think you must teach your wife to rest more. just pick up a hobby or something. jigsaws are a good start.
