Do you avoid going to get your hair cut?

I do. I don't like going in anywhere anyplace to get my hair cut. I get my hair cut every six weeks, but I don't like going. It is an uncomfortable experience no matter how nice the hairdresser is, what kid of place, etc. I don't like it. Maybe I am uncomfortable being fussed over, maybe I don't like looking at myself in the mirror, maybe I don't like looking at myself in the mirror with my hair all wet and straggly, maybe I never like what my hair ends up looking like when they do it. Whatever, it just is one of the necessary evils in my life.

I never go anywhere to get my hair cut. 20 years ago I bought an electric hair clipper. I have tallied up the savings to about 4000.00 dollars. I cut my own hair once every 2 weeks whether it needs it or not. My hair always looks good and I don't have to wait in line for a haircut. Cutting your own hair is not that difficult. One thing you need is a bathroom mirror in 3 hinged sections. Then you pull out the 2 outside sections and they act like mirrors on your car. You can see along both sides and by turning your head a bit you can see the back. Happy Clippings!

You mean you can do a good job clipping the bottom back? Even with the mirrors, that must be difficult. Hmmm, I do have an electric clipper for the dog.... thinking.....

I too hate going to the hairdressers, I put it off until I can no longer not go. I am in this position again this week, everyday I say to myself I will go to the hairdressers today but when it comes to it I think I will go tomorrow instead. I really have to go tomorrow LOL

Hello, I'm the total opposite! The only reason I avoid going is when I don't have enough money. I get it cut and colored, so you can imagine what I look like! As a matter of fact, the last time I went, the power went out in the entire neighborhood, so they pulled out the chairs onto the sidewalk, and I was sitting in the middle of a busy shopping area, with my color on! I had no problems with it. Being uncomfortable being fussed over is understandable, but you gotta get used to it. I am sure you deserve being fussed over! Enjoy!

Maybe you have a point. I don't like being fussed over. I'm the fusser, the caregiver. You made me smile - I cannot even remotely imagine sitting on the sidewalk getting color on my hair.

I don't like it either, since I want to grow my hair long, but it is pretty hard when you go to the hairdresser and they cut half of your hair even if you tell them to cut only a little bit. I am sometimes wondering if they don't like their customers or what is their problem. I didn't have my hair cut about year and i don't mind. i was in hairdresser one week ago, but only for styling and she said my hair look very healthy, so i guess i am taking good care of them.

when i was in high school, i really hate it when my mom suggests me to get a hair cut.. she wants me to try on something new hair style.. but for me, it's really hard to cut off my hair short.. i was waiting like forever for my hair to be long as i wanted it to be and in just a split of second it would gone.. but now, i think i got a change of heart.. i was planning to cut my hair as well as my bangs, to create a new look instead..

The Katie Holmes new bob look is adorable. May look really cute on you if you are considering bangs.
