Just that, post your opinion. What is for you the best operation system?

I have windows vista and I really do dislike it...I mean there is a few things that vista has that XP doesn't but I have used both windows operating systems and I really do prefer windows xp....Windows has alot of problems...But good news for those who don't like windows vista I have heard that they are coming up with a new kind of windows operating system...I can't exactly remember what it is called but I have heard that its suppose to be alot better than vista...and the reason that they have created it is because so many people are having problems with windows vista

Ive been using Vista for a few months now. I quite like the new features although ive had some compatibility problems but nothing too major. Kind of wish i had gone with an apple computer ive never had one but just wanted to experience it.

Actually open source stuff like Linux doesn't cost money, it just costs a LOT of time.

Quite simply, there is NO good reason to upgrade to Vista. Not one. My biggest issue with it is that it doesn't make my computer faster, doesn't utilize my memory or processor more efficiently than XP, and in no way does it perform better than XP. Even the 64 bit version of Vista doesn't offer any major improvements. I would have tested it on my Media Center PC, but the motherboard uses the nForce2 chipset which is not compatible with Vista. There is no way I'd make it the primary OS on my desktop PC.

HATE IT! so many programs aren't compatible with it! it would have been nice to have it backwards compatible, but nope, they didn't, so its impossible to downgrade and use all my current software.. it came preloaded on my new top, otherwise i wouldn't have purchased it!

Believe it or not, there is a fair amount of backwards compatibility if you know how to beat Vista into submission. That said, I've been working with computers for over 20 years. The average person will continue to find Vista seriously lacking in software compatibility.

So many problems are reported about Vista that I have dared not convert my computer to it. Too many software conflicts, driver conflicts, and incompatible hardware. I am not sure what the all mighty Microsoft had in mind when they pushed this junk onto the computer world - and you know that in two years Vista will still be a problem and MS will no longer support XP.

I haven't upgraded to Vista just for the reasons pointed out here. Mainly, it is not compatable with so many of the programs I use regularly. I can't understand how Microsoft can market an operating system that is so unique and different from their own former system. At least they could have made it usuable in conjunction with XP so that old programs could still be run. So, I will hold out until this old system no longer works.

So far I love my vista program. I just recently purchased a computer in the last month and it works great. I haven't had any problems with my software being incompatible with my program either. Also like some of the features on here that windows xp didn't have. I give it a thumbs up.

I think Vista sucks. I tried using it but it gave me to many headaches, it wasn't compatible with software that I enjoyed to use. So, I wouldn't buy it at all. I like the Windows software.

I heard many discouraging things about windows Vista. This is why i have decided to stick with windows XP. Also, I hear that sp3 will be coming out for windows XP and supposedly it is a lot more efficient then Vista. From what i heard it will be released at the end of this year, I believe.
