When to mark the best response?

Hey! I was wondering...are there any common curtesy rules when it comes to when to pick the best response? At first I was picking them after 7 days. But now that I see how long some discussions go on for, I'm wondering when other people pick their best response? Thanks!

Thanks so much for starting this discussion. I really have no idea of when to do this and will be very interested in reading the responses of others. Sometimes I forget to go back and check the best response. Does it really matter? I have no clue.

I typically wait anywhere from 2 weeks to a month to pick a best response. I don't like picking a best response to soon because as soon as I do someone comes along and posts an even better response.

You pick one, when you get one. I used to pick mine pretty early, but then I would select one and later on, maybe even a few months, someone will come with something better. I just wait. And select those which the topics have been in active for a while. The newer ones I leave for more people to give their opinion and a chance to be marked best response.

yeah, i'd like to know too. i mean the discussions i start don't usually last long so i don't know when to mark it. i might not even get more than 1 response. so if that's the only i get... it's gotta be the best! lol.
