Well hands down the Italians are the happiest people and healthiest. I just read where it's been proven that pasta releases serotoxins in your brain which are the brains "feel Good" chemicals. Also Italians are more prone to use fresh tomatoes, olive oil and other natural ingredience in their pasta dishes. I love pasta and am happy to eat it whenever I can! Do you?

I do love them, especially when using those ingredients. I use sun-dried tomatoes. Sometimes, I buy some from the grocery or the local market and sometimes I also make my very own. Olive oils are obviously not native to my country, so I usually get them from the market as well.. Guess I'll try to share some of those "serotoxins" here, since I always love to share the happiness with everyone!;)

we just had a nice spaghetti for lunch, mmmm, can't seem to make it too often, you know? do you happen to know if all noodles are considered pasta or just italian types? I've never thought of wonton, angel hair or ramen noodles as being pasta.

Funny you mention this because I had Lasagne tonight for dinner. Maybe that's why I'm so happy..lol I do eat alot of pasta and I'm not Italian. Love anything from pizza to mostaccoli in red meat sauce. I love bread also. I do have a close friend who is Italian and she is always so happy and healthy. Nothing gets her down.

We love pasta and eat it once a week. I love tomatoes, veggies, olive oil, and garlic (another healthy food) on it.

I grew up in an Italian community and they were a happy people - always close with family, loud, and passionate. I miss that atmosphere. The music is also very bubbly happy too. maybe this release of serotonin is why I have a hard time stopping at one helping of pasta?

Wow, that's good to know. Love, love, love pasta, mmmmm, yummy! I eat it about once a week and right now it's morning but I sure could go for some spaghetti and meatballs, haha. I also love fresh tomatoes and eat quite a few during the week with dinner, but don't usually use them in making big dishes....maybe I should try it.

I also love pasta and this is good to hear. We use extra virgin olive oil all the time also for cooking. My son and I love fresh tomatoes and hubby don't care for them at all but he eats the spaghetti sauce with them in it.
