Torrents are not "safe". Copyright holders simply seed the torrents themselves and they can harvest the IPs that connect to them. And when using private sites, if the users turn on PEX or DHT, people without registered accounts and still connect to you.

Limewire has LEGITIMATE uses. Limewire is simply a P2P application that can be used to transfer files. A correct statement would be, do not perform digital copyright infringement, or simply, do not download files that you do not have the right to. iTunes does not have every record label, and a lot of artists I like do not have their music on iTunes. And not all files have the non-DRM version, and I will never buy music that has DRM on it.

Burn DRM Music to CD via iTunes. Rip thru Windows Media Player.= non DRM music (Haven't tried yet, let me know if it works!)

I've never heard this and I use limewire all the time. My neighbor who is a state cop uses limewire as well. She's the one that told me about limewire in the first place. I'll continue using it and take my chances.

LOL!! LimeWire isnt illegle! Its a P2P program, unless you are downloading music and selling it to people for money it is definately not illegle! LimeWire is for your own use only, so you are allowd to download anything you want to but it has to be for your personal use only! I dont really use limewire that much anyway, I prefer bittorrent and download torrents.

I've tried telling my daughter for a few months that I heard limewire is illegal. Like all teenagers though she thinks she knows more than her parents do and she doesn't believe me about it.
