Hi lovewind, In my opinion that learning from parents and learning from friends are important but not equal.Because what you learn from parents will be 75 % beneficial to your life and what you learn from friends will be 25% beneficial. This is applicable even to your friends. Parents out of their experience will be teaching you how you should be in your life, where as friends will be teaching you how to react in your personal difficulties. So, learning from parents is more important than friends. Good Luck.

I agree more the later one. I think family members are our first teachers when we were born, what kind of person we will be and our personalities are been shaped at that time,so it's more important than the friends we meet after we grow up. sorry for my mistakes on grammar ,my English is poor.

I think both are important - there are things that we can learn from our families that we cannot learn from our friends; and there are things that we can learn from our friends that we cannot learn from our families.

I think they should not be compared. They quite different from each other and in our life they also play important roles.

Parents try to teach us how we should be and form our basic character. If you did your homework properly then and learnt what they teach, you can learn the rest yourself and pass the test too in flying colours. Friends treat you as their equal and teach you the ways of life. So both are necessary in our life.

In my personal opinion I think that it all depends on what you are talking about learning from friends and family....I think that if you are referring to street smart things I do agree that we prob would learn more from friends than what we do from family because sometimes your family members try and protect you!

I think that the family is the first step in moulding you into the person you turn out to be, but that friends are the ones who are on your level, allowing you to grow and adapt to surroundings, wherever those might be. So I wouldn't necessarily say that the influence of friends is more important than the influence and teaching of the family, as they are both equally important in different situations and circumstances.
