Gloria's fake death - why?

I wasn't watching Y&R at the time of the lotion contamination storyline and John Abbot and his demise but we all know gloria did it. But now, Jeffery has found out, and we all know that story.
But what I am missing, is ... if Gloria nd Kevin go through with her "fake" death to get her out of hte marriage, how will that shut Jeffery up about the lotion issue? If he gets convicted and sent to jail, all he has to do is tell what he knows, and tell where the evidence is and gloria is (finally) caught. So did I miss something about this scam?

You have raised a good question here...and one that crossed my mind too. Perhaps the writers have another twist in mind. However, Gloria is the queen of not thinking and planning ahead to what consequences her actions might bring. Who knows she may end up getting herself...and everyone close to her into another big mess. That is her style!
I guess we'll just have to wait and see...the soaps live and die by stories of conflicted relationships and hair-brained schemes.

A twist in mind....maybe they are going to get rid of Gloria!!!! For good!! or at least as "for good" as it pertains to the soap opera world! I hope they are giving that character time off...love that actress tho, she is great, but that character is so boring and the storyline is so old.....

Greetings again my fellow Y & R fan. I just noticed your best response and wanted to drop by and say thank you.
Well here we are three months after the discussion and Gloria is still going strong. Although trying to create better karma...can't help but wonder how long that will last. Last time I tuned in she was just about to give into her passions for Jeff...finally! I kept thinking...or get over yourselves and find a room...and now it appears they have.
Oh yes the glory of soaps...we often have love/hate relationships with them...just like the characters do with each other.
So long for now...

Yes, its come a long way! But as we all know, the wicked never change,.. they might deviate a bit, but they always go back. Currently Gloria is trying to adopt a child because of her karma. She'll get bored really fast and go back to her old self once she gets her hands on that contaminated lotion, or at least gets Jefferys hands off it! I am totally bored with the whole character.
