Do you ever literaly stop to smell the roses? I hear the saying all the time enjoy life, stop and smell the roses. After loosing a number of young people in my life I have actually stopped to smell the roses. For example when my 1 year old daughter and I go to the store we always go through the floral department and smell the different flowers. She enjoys this time and when she sees flowers she points to them and crinkles her nose, knowing that they tickel her nose. Its a cute thing we do and its great bonding time. I want her to appreciate life and know its ok to take the time to "smell the roses".

i may not smell the roses but i do try to take in the sunset as often as possible. to me that is just rejuventating. feel it is possible to smell the roses in so many other ways. sometimes its as simple as pausing when talking to a friend and saying you know you really mean a lot to me.

Thank you for "getting" what I ment by saying stopping to smell the roses. Although I asked if you literaly stop to smell the roses you got what that means. Smelling the roses is stopping to enjoy life wether it be actually smelling the roses, stopping to soke up the sunset, stopping at the beach to feel the sand between your toes. (as much as we hated the beach don't u miss it?) Thanks for your responce! Have a great day and don't forget to stop and smell the roses!

Well I try to!! Most of the time when we are in the store we are so busy that I don't get the chance to, and then sometimes we don't even go in that direction...so either way I miss it. Now when I would go for walks and I saw a live rose bush, heck ya I would take the time to smell them and soak in their beauty. Now what I do, is just enjoy the peacefulness of the air as it's passing through my hand as it's sticking out the car window or blowing through my hair. There's nothing like taking the time to appreciate the beauty that the air creates and the feeling of pure blissfulness as it's dancing on your face or playing in your hair. God, nature is so wonderful!! Thanks for that, just thinking about it made me a whole lot more peaceful than I was!!

well that is a wonderful thing to do ebsharer. taking time to stop and do something you enjoy even if it is for a few mintues a day is the only way to live. stopping to smell the roses is just a great way to bring a little joy in your life. I always take time to smell the roses when they are in bloom. but i take a moment to stop and make sure i find some joy in everyday, even if that joy is a few mintues

Thank you for your respnose. Luann (my daughter) and I stop to smell any kind of flowers. She points them out to me in the park or even fake ones. Grandma always has fresh flowers and she just loves smelling them. I love her face when she does.

I am a big Rose fan, it was my mom favorite flower, and man could she grow them. She always had sevral bushes in her yard. I hope to one day grow roses like her. I think it is great that you are showing your child the beauty of flowers and roses. My kids use to help in the garden. I always grew flowers. Now my daughter loves to garden as well. Stopping to smell the roses just has so many life long benefits.

Yes, I also take time to stop and smell the roses. It feels good to appreciate what nature and how they nurture us. It brings us joy to see these lovely flowers growing. Which reminds us how they trust the universe to give them life. They continually remind us how life should be and that we must enjoy the pleasure of having the daily experience of living and breathing.
