I dont know how this security alert got on my computer but I would like it off. It keeps making pop ups to a site to buy antivirus stuff. Ive tried system restore several times to no avail. Ive tried deleting programs I dont want no avail. Ive run my own antivirus program and it keeps telling me I have viruses, I delete them and/or put in a vault-Its not helping. Uggggggggg help me before I have to redo windows.

Usually internet explorer allows these kinds of pop ups. better you use mozilla firefox. it has an internal firewall which will prevent most of the pop ups. i think you are using AVG Antivirus. It is not so efficient when you have internet connection. Change that antivirus also.

Avast is a good antivirus to go for. Also although the other user is kind of right about Mozilla, sometimes using it will not stop the popups. As long as you are connecting to the internet and browsing via any browser you will still get these, but they will always open in an internet explorer window. I also suggest downloading an antispyware program such as Superantispyware which is one of the best spyware and malware removal tools for free on the internet at the moment. Should the above still nto help you please download a copy of "hijackthis" and post your report log file on here or any tech support forum site in order to see what you may have to remove from the computer.

Your best option will likely be to reinstall Windows. You've picked up an infection, and your anti-virus application is smearing it all over the place, plus System Restore ain't helping things. If you've got the patience to do so, you can attempt to run a good anti-spyware application or two (Likely, a combination of Spybot Search & Destroy and SmitfraudFix should get the ball rolling) followed by a good anti-virus program, and see if it helps, but I really think that you'll still need to reinstall Windows, because these won't do the whole job.
