Have you still got records?

I updated my tape collection on CDs then I threw out my record collection. This was my effort of clutter clearing. I have about 30 CDs but some of my friends have 200 CDs or more. Do you still have records or tapes? If you have a CD collection how large is it?

I have probably about 100 lp's still, don't listen to them often - but now and again...there is a certain nostalgia about it. my son hates it because of what he calls all the noise on the record that you do not have on cd, but I think that white noise is part of the charm... I also have over 200 real to real tapes if you can believe it - plus numerous cassettes and about 50 8 tracks.... I do not know how many cd's we have.

I've got CDs, Tapes, and vinyl. The latter I've had for more than 35 years, 40 in some cases. I had a big sort out just the other day and got rid of the less useful ones to the local annual Book and Record sale, but I've still managed to keep a heavy pile. One of these days I might get a record player again...

Oh don't throw out all your records. There are collectors who will buy this stuff from you. Having said that, yes I do have quite a collection of records. Someone gave me the Yellow Brick Road double album by Elton John. I don't think I've ever listened to it since I was kind of a Black Sabbath kind of girl. I also have Tommy and the list goes on. I can't seem to part with it just yet. As for my CD collection that's pretty small as I get everything from ITunes and LimeWire and stick it all on my Ipod.

Yes, they mean so much to you that you don't want to part from them. I got rid of my record collection because they are large. I tucked a number of tapes in a box and store them in my loft.

I have at least 40 CDs in my collection, I used to have a bunch of tapes when I was little. My mom still has a bunch of old records, but we never listen to them.

I recently decided to do the same but still nothing is materialised. It's one of the very good ideas of clutter management.

My husband and I still have a ton of records and we still play them regularly. We also have CD's and play those too, but all our old music is on records still. I love to listen to the records even though the sound isn't as good on them as the CD's but that's okay. We have some records that go back to the 60's and 70's, and those are some of my favourites. My daughter, who is now 25 years old, wants us to leave our records and our record player, to her when we are gone. She loves to listen to them too.

I have many 78 , LPs, Tapes and CDS. My favourites are DVDS. I play CDS and DVDS on my computer. I wish I could have the equipment to put all my records and tapes on CDs.

Like you the music i havee is taped or on my laptop. But i only have six cds!!! Im always in the charity shops and i see some really good records ...which makes me wish i had a turntable... I though about getting one..as they arent too expensive...but the problem is they take space...space is a thing that im short of....so im not going to fall for it!! My son has a massive cd collection...literally hundreds!!!He spands a fortune on them!!!

I have many records that I still enjoy. Many of them were give to me from my Great-Grandparents. I love the old country songs. Yes, I still have cassette tapes also. My cd player in the truck quit working so I use the tapes for music while I'm driving.

I only have about a dozen records left, but I have thousands of CDs. Recently we filed them all into flight cases and put the CD cases into storage just to save some room in the house. Now I wish I could figure out a way to do the same with books!

I still have all of my record albums. I shipped them over to Scotland when I moved here. A lot of them are collector items and I just don't want to part with them. I have bought a lot of cds as well as they are easier to carry around and play. I prefer the sound off of the album though, it seems to be clearer. That is another reason why I am hanging on to them. So, in answer to your question, I have over 200 record albums,200 cds, about 100 cassette tapes and a handful of 8-track tapes. One of these years I will get the records onto the ipod, but I will still keep them all.

I still have my records and cassette tapes. The Only reason I have cd's is because the music I wanted Only came in cd form.I have more coutry records than any other genre. I have more homemade rock n roll cassettes than any other genre.I have only a few cds and they are mostly soundtracks and famous vocalists like Frank Sinatra.

Up until two years ago I had an extensive record collection collecting dust since I didn't have a record player. My older daughter wanted them so I passed them on to her when we moved instead of lugging them 500 miles. I do have quite an extensice CD collection, I have never counted them, but if I listened to one a day I probably couldn't listen to all of them in a year. I stopped buying them since I don't have time to listen to them anyway, my cd player in my car is broken and that is where I used to listen to them.

Yes, I will always keep them. I also have 45's. I have an OMD record and Bananarama record and 45. That really ages me and this was only in the 1980's!!

I still have saved all my records and probably have close to 200 CD's. Just can't resist buying. Now I am starting to buy plenty of music downloads and will probably go overboard with that. I just can't seem to get rid of any of my music collection over the years.
