Ok. I need help and I need it fast. I am trying to get out of a date that is to take place the last weekend in Feb. I was asked yesterday and I agreed. I actually kinda of like this guy. But today---- all that changed. I saw his reflection from my library window and this dude was picking his nose. Everything inside me wanted to scream. You see, I am a school librarian. I tell stories to the little kids. When they are all sitting in front of me while I am telling stories, at least 5-6 kids have their fingers parked up their noses. I always tell them to stop. I tell them how germy it is and that they could get really sick. But a grown man???? I mean, why??? Why would a grown, good-looking man pick his nose?????? It ruined the magic for me. I just really do not want to go. What if he tries to hold my hand, the same hand that may have been nose picking seconds before??? I just can't do this. I see this person almost everyday. How on earth do I get out of this and keep some sort of working relationship? Please advise ---- and SOON!!!

Tell him that you are sorry but that you and your ex have decided to try to work things out.

That's a good one. The only thing is, is that my ex is ex beyond the "expiration date." If someone is an ex, how long do you wait before you can't call them ex any longer, and they just become "some guy I dated a while back.." ????

You have to make up a guy that you dated for a short while and broke up with but decided to try to work things out.

Try to make excuses so as not to embarass the guy. TEll him that something really imporatnt came and that you'd just call him if you find time to see him.

Right. I certainly do not want to embarass him. I could tell him about something important coming up though.

tell him honestly why do you want to back ou. if you can't tell it in front of him. just send him a note explaining why, honesty is the best policy. you might change that attitude on him and work out things the next time. even if its not with you maybe to somebody else. just tell him honestly
