I am looking to start a web page that I can to promote my business. I would like to put up articles on Photography and digital editing. Where do I find a place to host my page and how do I get a name. I would like one that I can put advertising on and make a little extra money off of that too.

This is something I do for clients all the time so I have somewhat of an expertise in this :) My question is are you looking to own your own site? Or are you looking for free hosting? If you're looking to host your own, here's what I would recommend. First of all, you must find a name. My suggestion is to make a list of words related to your site and play with matching the words togethers. Don't use a long name, keep it simple. I highly recommend you read: www.yudkin.com/generate.htm Once you find a suitable name, you can go ahead and purchase a domain name (www.domainname.com) You can do this at any domain site like someone suggested above such as godaddy.com or myhosting.com If you go to myhosting (it's a simple one to search with but not necessarily the best to purchase from ~ do your research before deciding which hosting company to go with), you'll see on the right hand side, you can search to see if your preferred domain name is available. You'll notice many available extension and again I suggest you keep it simple. Once you have found an available domain that you want to go with, the next step is to do a copyright search. This is unfortunately not mandatory however you can run into problems later down the road. An extreme example, if you call your site www.windows.com, Microsoft might have an issue with that! Once all that is done, and you've purchased your domain, you're ready to host your site. If you are brave enough, you can design your own site, or hire someone to do it for you. There are many templates available online to purchase as well. A lot of people might not agree here but Front Page used to be an easy way for amateurs to design their own sites but it is now outdated. It can still be used however there's bigger and betters ways to design now :) Hope this wasn't too much info to throw at you! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! Good luck!

hi, have you tried freewebs.com? it's a great user-friendly site. and the best thing about it is that it's free! Your site will get a name something like "www.freewebs.com/[name of site]i used it to create a website for our family.
