Do you eat at the kitchen table or diningroom table? Or do you eat in front of the TV? When my kids lived at home we always ate our supper, or dinner, at the kitchen table, as a family. When they were teenagers this was the only time we seemed to have together as a family. Our kitchen table heard all the stories since this is where we did most of our talking. Now that they are gone we usually end up eating in front of the TV. Bad habit I know, but half the time we don't eat at the same time, my hubby and I, so eating at the kitchen table has become unimportant to us. Except on the weekends, then we eat at the table together.

Hi When my kids lived at home we ate at the table. Now I am alone all week so usually I am eating in front of the tv as well. I really don't know anyone who does eat at the table anymore, especially when they have grown children that don't live at home anymore. When my husband is here on the weekends we go out to eat so I guess I really don't need a table.

Yeah I also eat the most of the time in front of tv. How you said it is bad habit and we shouldn't do it, but i also eat in different time as my husband. i somehow doesn't feel comfortable siting in front of the table, i don't know why, but it is like I feel tired, i don't enjoy food such good as i am on the couch. I guess the problem is, i have problem with my back and it is sometimes really hard for me juts to sit straight.

I have got into a habit now of always eating my dinner when I'm at the computer or watching television in my bedroom, I never eat with my family, because dad always watches crap on television which I can't abide and I just can't sit there and listen to it, plus he puts me off his food because he is always coughing and spitting, it doesn't take much to put me off my food so I find it easier all round if I take mine up to my bedroom and eat alone so I can enjoy it more and listen or do things that I want to do.

I eat almost anywhere. Sometimes in the kitchen, sometimes at the dining room table and sometimes even at the sofa in front of the TV as well as in the living room and the bed room. But then, it all depends on what food I am eating at that time since some food should not be eaten in the bedroom, for example...

Eating should be fun, so I eat anywhere that suits me. When ever I find myself especially my mood, if am very hungry guess I'll do the eating in the kitchen. On a normal day I do most of my eating in the Dinning room

hello, we have a special round table to eat at dining room. it enables us, the whole family to eat together. and even if we don't eat at the same time, each of us will still eat at the dining room table, even if alone. we feel odd if we eat somewhere else, most of us don't eat on sofa / in front of TV.

My family eats in the dining room. My kitchen is only made to cook and wash cloths in LOL. Anyway my dining room is where my family get together and eat, chat, and enjoy eachother.

In our home, we have a dining area adjoining the living area, and outside the kitchen. That's where we have all our main meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner. We eat as a family together, and our maid joins us as well. Mealtimes are a good time to socialize and to bond as a family. Furthermore, we are Chinese and when we eat the Chinese way, we share the food in a communal fashion, where the three or four dishes are placed in the center, and we dish out the portion of food we want to eat onto our individual plates. It is common for us to talk and share as we eat, and sometimes watch some TV also during our meals. So it is appropriate for us to sit around the dinner table to partake of the food together. At weekends, we eat out without the maid, so we can share more private and family matters.

Thanks so much for the vote. As I am writing this (it's 12.35pm here), lunchtime is approaching. I see that my maid is laying out the table, and soon I have to leave my PC and join the others at the dining table for my communal lunch. Care to join me for lunch?

Our dinner is always at the kitchen table unless there is company. When we have company we eat at the dinning room table because it is bigger and can seat more people. When I was growing up we mostly ate at the dinning room table. For awhile I always ate in front of the television, but now that I have kids it is back to the table.

We usually eat at the dining table on regular meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner. We usually start up a conversation while eating. Talk about family matter. But now since we cannot be accommodated in our dining table, my parents do eat on the living room and we with my 4 sisters and 2 nieces - eat on the dining table. There are also some times that I can't just have my nieces eat on the dining table, as they are fun of watching TV and it is very difficult sometimes to deal with young children, so end up letting them eat in the living room with my parents while watching TV.

my family eats together. we make sure we do. when there's something good on tv, we all go eat infront of the television and if there's none, we just stay in the dining area. during mornings, we eat outside in the garden.. only of course if it aint raining

We used to all sit together at the table in the dining room, but now the kids sit at the table together and us adults sit in the other room and watch tele. And now I have just read this back to myself it seems wrong! So I think as soon as I can get a larger dining table and more chairs I will get it back to us all sitting together again before they grow up and leave home!

We always eat in front of the TV. We don't have a kitchen table or a dining room table so we kind of have no choice. We were never really concerned about it until lately. We want to set a good example for our two year old and now we're starting to think that we should invest in a table and make some room for it in our house.

Hahaha we only have one table for meals...so all the time we will have our meals at that table which placed in the kitchen. We don't eat in front of the TV, but sometimes my niece and nephew do that. We can't have meals in one time on the table as the table only fit for 6 person at one time and we are about double of the chairs. So what we always do is to have shift meals which adult will go for their meals first and the kids and youngster will go later after the elders.

Usually we eat at the kitchen table but occasionally in front of the TV when it's just my husband and I eating. We rarely use the dining room.

We eat at the kitchen table as a family. And we only eat together at weekends. because we have no time to eat together during the week. So it's quite important to me.
