was wondering what people think about these things, personally although-to some it may seem far fetched-i think that people in those days had a little help from outside this planet-what are your thoughts and why?

First about the stone circles. I think most people don't realize that the people of earlier times weren't technologicaly ignorant. The ideas of the wedge and the fulcrum, the wheel and other tools were available and they knew how to used them. The pyramids were done by brute force by slaves. There were slaves in Britain and Celtic regions, Druids were not tree huggers, they were Warriors. They would fight and capture men and women who would be used to do the physical labor. The writings and the crop circles could have the mundane explanations that people give them. Just people walking around in certain designs, or using natural exfoliates to clear areas and color them so they made elaborate designs. But wouldn't it be great if there really was help from beyond our little world to do this.

It has be suggested that the Nazca lines that criss cross through the Peruvian desert could be some kind of a navigation map for extraterrestial vistors. The Long Man of Wilmington in Sussex is believed to be a depicttion of one of the ancient surveyors who helped plot ley lines and the crop cicles, some have been proved to be man made hoaxes but others there is no other explaination. There are so many unexplained things in this world you do definately need to question whether they are of this world or from another. Good question Littleowl, wish I knew the answers. Ellie :D

people were a lot more capable, technically able and inventive than people give them credit for, not a bunch of mindless barbarians. I mean, look at what the romans were capable of. then think how long ago that was. look how long it took to get back to their level of technology. just shows, things don't just get better and better. the dark ages were in full swing in the UK after the romans had been and gone. a step backwards. so just because something would have been difficult after a certain historical time doesn't mean an earlier era wouldn't have been capable of it. as these monuments show us, they were.

Goodness, I don't know how I missed this discussion as this is right up my alley..LOL I once took a sort of unorthodox Anthropology course in college that addressed these many issues. My professor was kind of poo-pooing any suggestions that the Nazca lines were made by aliens, and condemned Von Doniken's Chariots of the Gods book that was very popular at the time. Now there MIGHT have been some logical explanations for some of these "strange" occurrences"..such as the idea my professor brought forth that the ancients in South America had knowledge of air balloon technology and therefore had the capability to draw out those Nazca lines but the question remains...for what purpose when the designs could only be seen from far up? I'm a total believer that we have been visited by aliens in the past, since in no way can we be smug enough to think out of the whole universe only we exist as intelligent beings (though I sometimes questions mankind's intelligence) I'm also a firm Atlantean believer that long ago, another more advanced but isolated civilization co-existed and perhaps they were the ones responsible for many of the mysteries found on our earth that have yet been satisfactorily explained.

Hi Pye...I beleive in atlanta too and would not be surprised if they did have a lot to do with some of the mysterys we have now on earth, but I firmly beleive that there is other more intelligent life in the universe and that they also visit us..one of my theorys is that they are trying to warn us what could happen if we carry on the way we are in the world..also that they want to help us, one day that may happen and then the world will know about other life forms. Those people who walk around saying that they do not believe there is other life in the universe are very narrow minded..we are a dot in a huge universe...bb littleowl
