I have quit a few times!! one time i quit in a very strange way but i'll share it with you. Ok. So i dont like pickles. . So everytime i wanted a smoke, i'd eat a pickle.. Your thinking.. why would that work ? Well.. it associates the craving for a smoke with something BAD and NASTY! so soon your body stops telling you you want the craving.. now wheather that is mind over matter i'm not sure but it worked. The last and final time i quit, and i will never smoke again, i just STOPPED. I was pregnant, so i stopped. Good enough reason to quit in my books, i might not care much about my health, but i cared about the baby i wished for for years that i finally had recieved!!

I don't smoke, but know lots of ppl who do.. my Dad quit when he had prostate cancer. To cope with this, he ate tons of candy (I believe butterscotch disks) so that he was doing something. And didn't think of the smoking. You can also do sugarfree candy. Altho my sister told me they say that sugar free stuff makes your metabolism slower. So either way... So I don't think this answered your question but was more how to help when you want a smoke. B

Hi I stopped smoking 14years ago I was having a major operation and was told that I was more likly to get blood clot if I smoked and I thought of my children and the fact I did not want to die, I stopped a couple of weeks before the operation and have never smoked since, even though I had never tried to stop before and had been smoking about 30 a day for 20 years, so glad I have stopped and wish with all my heart I had never started, I having nothing against smokers as my husband stopped with me but he started again after 2 years but for health sake I wish he would stop.
