unlike many people, I don't think morals come from religion. although I do beleive that my Pagan upbringing gave me a very sound moral foundation for life. morals come from considering the effects of your actions upon others. how everything you do will have an impact on the lives of others, and morality is the desire to ensure that your actions do not make the lives of others unhappy. no book can teach you that if it's not in your heart.

hi dasaril! morality should come from the bible. God is the author of life and He gave us the bible on how to base our lives upon. that should be our standard or moraility. but so many people do not believe in God and His word. so they come upwith all sorts of things that become their principles, making life more pleasurable and convenient for them. there the problem comes, because then we get subjective morality. for some people, abortion is good, whereas for others it is murder. some people think polygamy is cool, even when the bible says that adultery is sin. oh well, i will not preach here. just explaining. take care pal and God bless youi!:-)

I agree that good moral values and standards start at the beginning when you are a child. With the teachings of your parents, friends, teachers, relatives...If they have a bad influence in the beginning such as a friend, that could very well erase any good that your parents had taught you. Surrounding the child with people with good values, hearts, actions will encourage them to be the same...However trying to change your bad living habits and morals when already grown up might be hard. Being used to one standard for so many years and trying to change it might seem impossible. I think making small steps at a time to become a better person is the way to do it.

if your life is guided by the teaching of the Bible it will help you to live in high moral rather than nothing...without the Bible we don't know if our doings and undertaking are wrong...that's is why God give us the Bible to think and evaluate the right from wrong. We must apply it in ourselves.
