Was your refund there when they said it would be?

I filed my tax return electronically, which I have done every year for as long as I can remember. I always get it back quickly. Its been several weeks now, and it still isn't here. I went and did that "where is my refund?" thing on their website and it informed me that my check was direct deposited on the 15th of February. This past Friday. Which is wonderful. Only it isn't there. The bank hasn't seen anything come through, and nothing is pending. So now I am concerned. And when you go back to their website to try and find it, it says that they can't help me until the 20th. So, I guess my question is, did anyone else run into anything like this? Or should I be in full on panic mode at this point?

My tax refund actually came earlier than expected. I was so happy because we really need it. I got my money direct deposited also. I can't believe it isn't showing in your bank account yet. that is weird. I wouldn't panic yet though. It may show in your bank account on the next business day. Good luck with it.

I hope you are right about the next business day thing. Because I really need it now. I was counting on having it Friday. And I absolutely need it by Monday. So needless to say I am a little more than mildly concerned. It is fantastic that you got yours early. Its always so nice when it happens that way.

Thank you. :-) It's not there today, but with today being a federal holiday, that may have something to do with it. I am keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow though.

Yes. I hope you get yours on Monday. My state was actually deposited on a Tuesday and my Federal came on Friday. Yours may happen that way also but I sure hope you get it soon as possible. I know how it is to have to have it right now. Good luck.

I know they are usually pretty accurate with the estimated date and the timing is usually fairly quick. That is what has me a little concerned.

I wouldn't worry too much. The same thing happened to us with our State return last year. Keep in mind that tomorrow Feb 19th) is a federal holiday so all the banks and government offices will be closed. That may be why they can't help you until Tuesday. My husbands last employer had a similar issue with direct deposit, they would say the money was there on Friday, but it wouldn't show up until a full business day had past - normally Tuesday morning.

You make a good point about the federal holiday. I am hoping it is there tomorrow. You definitely set my mind at ease a bit. And when I filed I didn't get that disclaimer about the 48-72 hours. That also makes me feel a little better. My bank just says they haven't seen it, but if it is hung up in limbo somewhere due to the holiday, hopefully it will make itself known tomorrow. Yes, the "where's my refund" thing is where I got the 15th. Maybe I never should have checked it and then I wouldn't be in a panic. LOL Thanks for the information. :-)

Wow, that is a really long time to wait for a refund. I would definitely be impatient.

I had a similar experience. Last year when I filed for refund they told me the cheque will be sent to me in three months. But 4 months had passed and the cheque hasn't arrived. So I went to the BIR office only to find out that my file and the cheque were missing. So I had to fill up an application again and wait for another 3 weeks. This time I opted for them to call me so I can pick up the cheque myself.

That's the thought that scares me, wondering if it is lost and I will have to go through the whole process of verifying that I didn't get it, and waiting for them to re issue, etc. I certainly hope that isn't the case.

Then if you have to verify that you didn't get it you have to provide another evidence to prove your claim. I do hope you don't go through that hassle again.

Usually it takes my taxes a few weeks to get deposited into my account. This year it was actually deposited early. It never even got the chance to show up on the irs website because it was deposited so quickly. A pleasant surprise.

That is a pleasant surprise. I am just anxiously waiting until there is a live person there for me to talk to. Hopefully it will be there tomorrow since today is a holiday.

I did not do direct deposit and I got my check earlier than I expected to. I'd be a bit concerned if I were you. I would be worried if I put the routing # right and wondering if it perhaps got deposited into a wrong account. If it was direct deposited, it should have shown up by the 16th at the latest.

I double checked my routing and account numbers when I filed. And then again on friday when I didn't see it in my account. The numbers are correct. Unless someone on their end mixed something up, but I am fairly certain it is all done electronically.
