I love to write! I love creating whole words just by the flick of my wrist. My imagination comes to life on paper. It's an amazing thing to be able to write down what I see in my head. I also love writing out my feelings, it's such a great form of therepy for me. What about you?

I love to write as well, I like being able to put my thoughts to life. I have had this love for as long as I can remember. I really started writing when I was in my teens in the form of journals and poetry. My favortie classes in school were always reading and writing. I have always wanted to write some sort of book, but really have no idea how a person would even start one. I belong to poetry.com and have some poems that have been published from them. I was and still am so excited that I was introduced to this site, it really plays into my love of writing and reading. It really is a passion of mine that I have not indulged much these past few years. Now I can, what fun!

I am sorry to break this to you but Poetry.com is a scam. I have numerous friends and have talked to numerous others, who have sent in their writings to them and they supposedly pubblish everyone's poems. They also pick everyone as the top poet and exc...Notice, that everytime your poem is chosen, they will send you a form to buy something from them. That is your fist clue right there. It's a scam and I can't stand Poetry.com. They need to be exposed for what they are....

Hi SassyKittyKat, I love to write also although sometimes I suffer from writer's block. I just lost my husband 7 weeks ago and want to write something about life's passages, how we go from one life to another etc. I have several pent up ideas. I just need to bring them together. Hope to hear from you, cdejac

Wow, I'm so sorry! How do you deal with that? I always worry about what I would do if I lost my husband. I think it would kill me. How do you deal with it? If you're interested, I have a liveJournal community where I give challenges 2 times a week, called Blocked Writers. It's to help us keep inspired. Let me know if you are.... Once again, I am truly sorry for your loss!

For me, it depends what I'm writing about. If I'm writing about something that I enjoy, it usually comes easy to me. However, if I'm writing a paper for school it is usually the hardest thing for me and I hate every minute of it. I don't write a diary or journal or anything to do with my feelings. I like writing articles and writing up things for animal rescue groups as well. I don't think writing makes me feel any better really. My therapy would probably have to be music. Especially the harmonica. Which I am quite sad that I cannot play right now since I am still getting over pneumonia.

Yeah, for me writing is like a form of therepy. It really helps to get my feelings out at times, instead of keeping them in all the time. Man, you have Pneumonia too? It's going around like crazy. My mom had it recently as well. I have not gotten it yet and I hope I don't! Anyway, I hope you are feeling better soon!

Same here. But to answer your question, writing comes a little hard for me. What I love is writing short stories. In college, I wrote alot because I took fiction writing courses. I even submitted a couple but didn't get published. I got out of it for a long while but recently I got the urge again. I decided, just to get the feel of writing again I would write a sequel to one of my stories bewfore trying to come up with a new one. I got stuck. It seemed to be going ok and at one point I didn't know where to go and I didn't finish it. Also, before that happened, after a scene, I would get that ole writer's block and sit at the table for a half hour before suddenly getting an idea and going on. So far I havn't started up again but I think I will soon.

Yeah, I mainly write poetry and short stories myself but I do it more for me and my friends online. I have a community on LiveJournal that I made, where I give out challenges two times a week and we have to write something according to the challenges. We all really enjoy it and it keeps us inspired...

Yeah, I get writer's block sometimes but that's why it's good to practice in other areas because it opens your mind to other forms of writing and it can be really inspiring as well...

I find it really hard to write. I can come up with topics only when I am about to go to bed, other then that I find it hard to get into the groove and write about a specific topic. I am trying this site out so I can get to the place that your at, getting whats in my head out in a creative way.

Yea, there are at times too many topics to choose from. It is helping me open my mind up to other sides of topics which is always a plus.

I have never been a fiction writer. I don't have the imagination or patience for it. I prefer to write about current events or problems in life. Writing about them comes natural to me now, but at first, it was hard to get the words to come out. I would sit for half an hour or more and just stare at the blank paper with a pen in my hand. I overcame this problem over time with the help of a suggestion given to me by a college professor. She suggested keeping a journal from day to day. Simply writing about the things I did or encountered each day helped to solve the problem of not knowing how to start writing about the things I wanted to write about. I found out that the most important thing is to start putting words on paper. Just write what you are thinking without wondering what other people who may read it will think about it. I feel this is the main issue with young writers...they fear that someone will judge them for what they write, so they choose not to write for fear of rejection. While this is something they will have to learn to deal with on a personal level, overcoming the difficulties with the writing process is something that can be learned. So, if you are having difficulties when you try to write about something, it may benefit you to start keeping a journal. I recommend getting back to basics. Get a notebook and a pen, and start out the old-fashioned way. This is what worked for me...
