I just saw clips of Pettitte's press conference.I believed him when he said he didn't take HGH to improve his pitching but to recover faster. What do you think? Does it matter to you?

I believe him. He's an aging pitcher and everyone else is taking steroids or HGH and becoming huge stars (Sosa, McGuire, Bonds, etc.) and he's just trying to maintain. I blame baseball itself just as much as I blame the players. Clemens should take a page from Pettite and just admit what he did, he's only making it worse denying it.

It is so good to see Clemens downfall. I have hated him ever since he hit Piazza.

No matter how you slice it. That is still against the rules of baseball and furthermore ILLEGAL! Whether to help or to recover, it is illegal. Yes, it matters!

Thank you for your response. It is weird for me to believe a Yankee but I do believe Andy.

I do believe him. I think it's really unfair and probably naive for critics to say that athletes only use steroids and HGH to enhance their performance. A lot of athletes use that stuff to recover from injuries. Just look at Pettitte. He never put on a bunch of muscle like other users have. He never started throwing harder once he took it. So that tells me that he wasn't using enough to gain any sort of performance enhancement from it which means that he was taking it to recover from an injury. Having an injury sucks. All the pain and rehab that goes with it. If there's a way to recover faster so you don't have to deal with that as long then you're going to go that route. Yeah Andy Pettitte broke the law but what he did didn't make him a better pitcher so I don't think that he's a cheater.
