Do your children love to laugh at your pain? Has anyone seen the movie, Big Daddy? That is my daughter. The little boy who won't warm up to you until you injure yourself in front of him. I was just talking to her and she is having a pretty bad day so I needed to do something to cheer her up. She said something that was completely off the wall and when I said "D'Oh!" I smacked myself in the forehead. Then I quickly pretended to have injured myself by hitting myself and she fell off the couch laughing so hard. Do your children laugh at you when you hurt yourself? Do you pretend to cause yourself pain just to make them happy? Or am I just crazy? lol

Anything that causes me discomfiture, my 13 year old laughs at. My grand babies on the other hand really get a a kick out of me hamming it up for them. I am not sure why the act of falling down or hitting your head makes them go into fits of giggles but they love it. My Grand daughter who is 4 will quietly be watching Noggin, and one of the characters, will fall down or fall off a roof, some such nonsense as that, and she is nearly in hysteria from laughter. Of course nothing in this world gives me more pleasure then to see them or hear them laugh that way. So I ham when ever it pleases them.

That is why I do it on purpose. When they laugh and giggle their butts off because I am acting like I'm dying in front of them it is the greatest sound in the world.

Me again. I once asked my daughter to "smell the cheese", where you make a fist and hold it on your other palm and when they smell, you give them a little tap on the nose. Only this time, I moved my had back so fast that I caught my own nose really hard. She nearly wet herself. There's no doubt that they love to see their parents in pain. Little savages. Who'd have em?

I tell my children the only reason I let them live is because one day one of them is going to have to change MY diapers. Funny, they see no humor in that. lol

My children don't laugh when I hurt myself, but they will throw themselves down on the floor and the others will laugh at them. It is like some kind of strange game they play. I do have to admit it is kind of funny sometimes.

When our kids were younger, we were playing kickball and I ran smack into a tree. I knew it was there, but was looking backward as I was running, and apparently misjudged the distance. The kids (and my hubby) laughed their butts off. I wasn't too seriously injured, but scraped up one shoulder. I probably would have laughed if it wasn't me!

When I do truly hurt myself it is hard for me to laugh at that moment but if it was because I did something really stupid I will laugh at my own stupidity later while my kids are probably still laughing at me.

I don't have kids but growing up I always laughed when someone tripped or did something minor to hurt themselves. I think it's just the gut reaction for me is to laugh! So I can totally see how that would make your kids laugh.

I do that too. I see someone hurt themselves and if I don't laugh about it I might end up crying so my first reaction is always to laugh.

Careful, your other half might start blaming the kids for his obvious brain damage. :)
