I got some bad news today

Well at least you have the comfort of knowing that through the internet you had the privilege of meeting someone you may never have met otherwise.

Absolutely. I feel very privilaged with all the people I have meet online. For every bad egg I've met, I have met 100s that are great people. And many of them are right here on mylot.

Thank you, I do know what you mean. Gaiafirelynx was a nice lady, trying to make ends meet with a lot going against her. But she's been trying to get things back together. In the other forum that I meet her in, she will be sorely missed.

Oh wow... now I feel quite bad because I may have been able to lift her had I only come across her. I guess that's easy to say in hindsight, but I really wish our paths had crossed. Still, what will be will be, I suppose. If we were fated to meet, then I'm sure we would have done. She sounds to have been a really nice person... so sad.

She would've really liked to meet you Darkwing. She was practicing Bastet worship and would've probably found your practices very enlightening.

Thanks AmbiePam, I hate having friends die, even long distance friends. This is the first person I've known to die this year, I can hope it'll be the only one, but I'm not holding my breath. I haven't heard if there's someone to step into take her cat.

I never got to meet Gaia in person, but I'd had a long distance, email/message board relationship with her for the last 3 years. I've tried to be supportive of her recent change in living conditions and help her any way I could from 1000 miles away.

Thank you keeper. I hope that is true, because she was following a path that most Christians would feel was wrong. I can only hope that he can forgive her, she did no harm, and tried to always be a good person, doing what good she could on her limited ablities.

thank you balasri. She did have an amazing love of her cats, her youngest, Jezebel was 13. Gaia was on a very fixed income, but she always did what was best for her cats.

I am still mourning the loss of my dear friend Judy who passed away nearly 2 years ago. I miss her terribly. It helps me to talk to her when I am down. Her voice and laughter comes to me still with such clarity.

Douglas Adams I don't think had anything to do with diabetes but here nor there we lost a great writer. My grandmother had it and ended up dying of arthritis... another condition I didn't know you could die of... kinda scary when you think of all the ways you can go......

Thanks Steph. Gaia was my only referal, but that's not why I'll miss her. I'll miss her because she always had an upbeat thing to say to others no matter how horrible things were for her.

She sounds like a wanderful person. I am sorry that I did not get to meet her. From what I have read here, she did die of a broken heart because of her cats. That is so sad. I hope she is reunited with them now. That is so sad. That is why it is good to be nice to all of our friends. You never know when your number will be called. May she rest in peace now.

Yes, Timothy is the cat actually licking her ear in her avatar. He had a stroke 3 years ago and nearly had to be PTS then, it was a spinal stroke and only another lady on the board who's cat had also had one, talked her though that. She moved just before Christmas, she told me in early Dec she had gotten the key to the new place and was going to start moving things. I've posted a quiry on the board as to what has happened to Jezie.

I know exactly what you mean Bev. While I wasn't probably her #1 online friend, we did send notes to each other regularly. I do know that she had gotten to actually meet some of her online friends because they lived not too far from her. I've only met one person, and that was because she had a kitten she found that I went and picked up and brought home. We call him Tony because he came from San Antonio.
