Cricut cutting system

My daughter in law and I just returned from getting a Cricut. We had to try it out of course and had lots of fun cutting out some sayings and shapes. I said I would never get one but she wanted one so bad and now I think in the long run we will save money on buying letter stickers etc. Have you seen a Cricut or do you have one? Is it something you would like to have in the future?

I just got one for Christmas. Got a GREAT deal on it. I only have one cartridge, waiting for the second one I ordered. I am not sure where you live but Magical Memories (www.yourmagicalmemories.com) in Lambertville rents the cartridges. $5.00 for 3 days or less than that if you just use it while you are there at a crop. $1.00 or $2.00 I think.

www.customcrops.com is a good place to get the cricut at a good price and also the cartridges. I am still waiting for a font I ordered, but it is well worth it with the price I paid.

I'll have to try the rental... that way I'll know if I REALLY want to purchase that particular cartridge or not...
Also, did you hear about he release of the new "adult like" cartridges? They are great for some sports and camping, weddings, great fonts, etc. But... they are mini carts. They will be released in March! Yay!

Wow, I just went back to check and found out the response I posted didn't go through. I was typing and then myLot went down for upgrades. Oh well. I don't have a Cricut, but I have some friends that do and they love it. I am saving up for one of those cutters that plugs into your computer. That way I can use the fonts I already have. Until then, I'll be borrowing my friends' - I am glad they don't mind.

My daughter in law used it this weekend with her friend and her friends mom and it was a hit! They also used my cutting system from Creative memories....her friend hadn't ever used one and I guess the three of them had a blast! I am glad we got it...I am doing a wedding album so I am excited to use it!

Wow - a wedding album - that's a lot of work. I have that wave cutter from CM and I have lots of fun with it. Are you a distributer?

Since I do a lot of scrapbooking, I would love to have one. But the price is a little high, and then you have the cost of the cartridges, so for now, I don't really like sticker letters, but I do a lot of my titles and such with stencils, all different fonts.

Part of the reason we got the cricut is because my granddaughters name has three A's in it....by the time you do her name once you are out of A's. so we figured we would save alot of money...I have a scrapbook for each one of my grandkids. But we are sharing the cost and they are more reasonable now then when they first came out.

this sounds like a really cool gadget. i don't think they have brought it into my country yet. what we have is a silhoutte cutter that is stuck to the computer and can even cut out chinese fonts and characters.
i guess i won't really invest in a cutting machine like this. i think my quickutz squeeze is already feeling kinda neglected.

I got one for my birthday in October and have been in love since. I only have 4 cartridges (George, Sampler, Mickey Font, and Mickey & Friends), but I can do so much with them!
You need to become a member to the Cricut CHIRP. Go to http://www.cricut.com and register to receive their newsletter. They just sent out a special newsletter (affiliated with Creative Xpress) that gives one free cartridge with the purchase of two from any Walmart store. However, they must be purchased in the month of February! So act fast!!!
Currently, I'm in a bidding war for Paper Dolls. There is just WAY much to do with that one. Otherwise, I trade with friends when I need something in particular that I don't have. Also, I'm looking to get the Design Studio so I can play much better... lol!

A lady I work with has one and she just loves it. She said I should get one because I scrapbook all the time. I think it is neat that you can make the stickers for wall sayings. If I had one, this would probably be the first thing I would do. I would love to have one and am considering buying one in the future.
