How long does it take for you to realise that the person you have just met is a potential lover? Does it happen straight away or does it develop over time?

I have to get to know someone for quite while to even think about that. Thee has to be trust and friendship first.

When I first met my now husband, we bacame friends and nothing more. He said he had that interest in me but I just wanted to be friends. It didn't take long at all for us both to feel more than that for each other. We got married 3 years after meeting each other.

Dear Eskarenai, One cannot measure the time it takes to understand a person. Sometimes you may find out within seconds of meeting that he is the one for you, sometimes you may not be able to understand at all. With your soul mate you might realise that within some seconds of meeting each other. people who have same thought and ideas come together very quickly. That's what I have seen and known all these days...

I don't meet any potential lovers these days - LOL. But I think the fastest I have ever got into a relationship was two meetings, the second of which we began living together and stayed that way for 13 years.

It develops overtime. It is easy for me to feel that I like the person. But to love him, it takes time. Because I don't easily fall. I am more into friendship than romantic relationship most of the time. In fact, I have lots of platonic friends.
