Muscle cramps is also a sign of a potassium deficiency. Try eating bananas, they're loaded with potassium. Might be worth talking to your doctor about. Don't take our word for anything, see your doctor if it continues ...

Do you get enough potassium? Try eating 2-3 bananas for a day or two and see if the cramps ease up. You could also try pediatlyte as your electrolytes may be out of whack. If not, see your doctor.

I have fibromyalgia. Leg cramping is a common problem among us fibromites (though not for me). But I understand from fellow sufferers that magnesium helps with leg cramps (and I'm sure I read it in one of the many fibromyalgia reference books). Magnesium aids in over 300 bodily functions. It is a supplement and can do no harm for your body. You may want to try taking magnesium supplements. If you want to go the old fashioned route, I heard that sleeping with a bar of soap in your bed stops leg cramps. Never tried it before but it may work. The only time I ever had leg cramps was when I was pregnant, many years ago. I hope you find a solution. Good luck!

Talk to your doctor. It could just be strain, but it's best to make sure there's not a bigger problem, like a torn muscle or something.

Walking around the house, a nice foot message from your significant other, a warm shower, or even a warm bath I hope that helps.

I can only tell you that this was happening to me, and I wasn't processing/eating/drinking enough calcium. Seek medical help! If I miss my calcium/Vitamin D supplements for 24 hours...I can guarantee you I will wake up in the middle of the night with incredible "charlie horses" that take me hours to walk off, and the next days, my legs feet are so sore from the cramps I had. Make sure nothing else is wrong, advice from Dr. and then just try Calcium/Vitamin D to see if condition improves. Calcium must have Vitamin D included, or you must supplement your Calcium with D to help your body assimilate the Calcium. Hope this helps...cause it sure hurts.
