Formula - Earning on Mylot

In the earning program, the last line explains: "Discussion activity earnings are calculated on a proprietary model that rewards useful responses and relevant discussions"... I would like to see explicitly a mathematical model of earning based on this affirmation. What are the indicators of "usefulness" and "relevance" and how are they put in formula? Anyone thought of that before; an estimation would be also useful for me (and maybe not only)

Hello klaudyou, Welcome to mylot, I hope you will enjoy your stay here!:-) As to your question, formula or propriety model is one of a very well guarded mylot's secrets. They claim that it's a complex algorithm. Probably, they think that letting people know it would make people to 'technically' trick the system rather than to make worthy contributions as they should be. They might have a point here. Usefulness or relevence of a response or contribution is purely determined by fellow mylotians through DRS (Discussion Rating System). This information is based on direct response from mylot. More content in a contribution which is rated "positive" by other mylot members is considered a useful contribution by the system. More "pluses" you get for a contribution the more you earn, according to mylot. Happy posting and happy earning!:-)

Thank you! I consider your reply a good point of view and a justified opinion. Happy posting and happy earning to you, too!

Thank you klaudyou, I must say though that the main earning point is one's content, i.e. volume of content. So, 5 one liners, even if positively rated, may not earn you as much as a single detailed response. Of course, ratings, either positive or negative, are part of the earning equation according to mylot. Thanks for the best response!:-)

im of the opinion mylot dont want us to know as though the earning process would be obscure. However, i would like to know who determines what contributes useful content? blessed be

What would be the reason for hiding that from us...? I don't understand....it can be much more motivating!

mylot is full of rules like that. Originally we were told the earning process was extremely complex and they didnt take kindly to us questioning it

He He He...extremely complex...it makes me more and more curious! I would really like to see at least an estimation...maybe you guys who have been here for a long time know something more specific... Thanks for response!

I wonder how My Lot defines a useful response and relevant response. Useful would be telling someone that vinegar removes marks from windows and relevance would be talking about my own dog's habits when sleeping if that is someone's questions. I wonder if anyone can come up with a formula. So useful add relevant equals earnings on My Lot.

The only thing I can corelate relevance with is the rank you have in that topic, but that isn't very clear neither.

I completely agree with you..I mean I have always wondered just how the earning system works on mylot..I mean we all agree that we do it because all the people are friendly on here but I am telling you I would be alot more motivated to come on mylot and help people if I knew how much money I made per reply to a discussion or to every question that i ask!

True...It's not only the discussion which are the essence here on Mylot, but at the very beginning, we all came here because we heard they pay!

I obviously have no idea of the formula, but making posts that are relevant to the discussion and not just one/two word answers does the trick. I've been here 6 days now and my earnings have increased each day. I tend to be wordy, but that's the way I am in real life. I don't really have anyone to talk to so I do it here. Works for me!
