Hello all my lovely friends. Today I would like to talk about things that sweeten your life, after all we deal with enough sour grapes every day, especially lately. So what tickles your sweet tooth? I am especially fond of chocolate. I must go through like fifty pounds a year lol. In the summer I lean more towards icecream of course, but that's one of the goodies I can eat all year around. In the winter time I love to lounge on the couch with hot chocolate and some pie and read a good book. So what is your sweet desire? Do share :)

There is one week every month where my sweetie and my children walk by me on tip toes carrying a candy bar just as a precaution. lol I'm not big on sweets. I get enough sugar in all those "healthy" foods that are supposed to be good for me that if I ate a piece of chocolate cake on top of it I would be awake for days. I think my sweet tooth is best satisfied by sweet juicy fruit, particularly watermelon! I could eat watermelon every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it. Grr! Now I want watermelon. You are evil! But that's why I adore you so :)

Watermelon doesn't taste the same in the winter when you live in the north. I don't know why, it just doesn't. But I will be sure to keep something on hand the next time I see you posted a new discussion. I will blame you for the 5 pounds I gain over night from this Snickers bar that has found its way into my mouth since reading your discussion. And don't laugh, it's true. I WALK down the candy isle at the grocery store and my jeans are tight on me before I check out :) Thanks for the compliment on my avatar. She's evil but at least I know it's genetic :)

Not all choclates are my favourites, but I love Dairy Milk so much, but as I had become weight conscious, I really have to control myself. Then comes the many home made sweets. Every other friday and on special days we make a sweet called Sugar Pongal and Payasam. The sweets are generally home made but still certain sweets which we cant really make at home are purchased and most of the times, at least one type of the sweet or other are at home. Generally sweets are made of pure ghee or with milk and so they are really very rich. So have to be very careful in consuming them too. And I could keep on rambling about sweets. Though I dont have a very high sweet tooth, I still have my own favourites.

In my pre-diabetic days my weakness was candie bars with nuts, m&m's and soda. These days I can't have much sugar so my weakness is cake. I can have my one or two small slices and then I get Hubby to polish off the rest so I'm not tempted to eat more then I should. He doesn't mind :) **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

At first it was really hard but it's been a couple years now and it's gotten alot easier. Thankfully I can still control mine with diet and I don't have to be on medication yet. My Stepdad has it and he won't stay away from the no-no's and he has to take injections twice a day. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Chocolates are always quite nice. I tend to go towards almost anything sweet, though. I love a Japanese treat called Pocky. My favorite is Almond Crush. I also adore Mounds bars. Mmmm, chocolate mixed with coconut or almonds. Yummy. Oh, crud, now I want chocolate. ^_^

After seeing a picure I know what they are, I just didn't know they were called that. I love those and now that I know what they are called, I know what to look for. That was mighty lovely of you to point me in the right direction. Thank You :)

It's this great Japanese snack treat. It's a stick/biscuit thing, which is sweet, and it's covered with a type of frosting. Wikipedia can explain it better than I can. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pocky I do suggest you try it, though. Some Wal-Marts and Kroger's have the basic chocolate and strawberry variety, while any Oriental grocery store would probably have a couple of the more interesting flavors. Or, if you're really curious, there are tons of sites that sell it online, as long as you don't mind paying S&H.

I would have to say that I am fond of chocolate covered raisins. Just love them. If I could get away with it, I would eat at least fifty pounds a day, I love them so much. But it's really not that good for me to eat that much. Thank You.

I have a very sweet tooth that I just gobble anything that is sweet. LOL! I love chocolates too but my favorite especially during summer are halo-halo(mix fruits mixed with crushed ice, milk & sugar) and green mango shake. They are just so yummy and so refreshing. I also love to drink coconut juice mixed with milk and ice which we can buy just along the sidewalk.

Just set aside pure coconut juice and mix with some condense milk. You can put in some ice or refrigerate it for later consumption. It is also good to add a little coconut meat into the mixture to make it tastier and more fulfilling.

oh, my gosh, now you are asking for my deepest, darkest secret. I very seldom have a "sweetaholic" attack.....but when I do, look out sweets of any form in a hundred mile radius. There is no stone left unturned, and I will go to great lengths, e.g; I will crave (home-made) lemon pie, make one, have one piece, lose interest, and go on to a pecan pie, lose interest, then some cheesecake, then some strawberry shortcake, then cookies! THEN when this attack phase is over, my rental tenant, whom is a bachelor is the recipient of several pies, cheesecakes, with one piece gone. His morning greeting, is not "good morning." It is "hope you're having an attack day!" Glad these attacks don't happen too often, as I seem to experience a sugar hangover after they are gone. A real slug!

Ho! Ho! Ho! You didn't ask me if I was a good cook tho? Maybe I am giving them away 'cuz they taste soooo bad! LOL! Like country life, you're welcome anytime. (Seriously, if I must say so myself, I am a good baker.) But you got me thinking.....there must be some mouse/rat in me, cause now you have me craving "licorice allsorts." Sickening sweeties! Sugar catastrophies! And there's just a little piece of useless info for you, rats, mice love licorice! That's why I have to eat the whole bag all at once, when I buy them, so I don't have unwanted guests in fur coats.

Chocolate is the lovliest thing ever, and sometimes I hate it, but then other times, it's all I want. But, other than craving chocolate sometimes, then wanting a lot of it, I don't really have a sweet tooth. I had something else to add but I couldn't find it lol. Nice discussion though.

Hello Riptide, Yes .. chocolates and ice creams are the best.. but in india we make lots of sweets, slurpy kheers and payasams which we take after food particularly lunch. After dinner or supper we normally do not take any heavy sweet because they say it is not easy to digest. At those time we take toffees or chocolates. Days doesn't pass without sweets. Don't you think so?

What are slurpy kheers and payasams? Toffees and chocolates sound yummy to me. I think we all should have a little sweet everyday. It's a lovely way to end a meal, that's for sure.

Hkeers and payasams are sweet delicacies in India and are made for every function or festival which gets celebrated. Even for the birthdays we make them. They are usually based on milk and sugar, with rice, vermicelli, semolina etc. With fruits also we make but the ingredients differ from place to place. They are cooked for the day, most of them cannot be preserved, at the most maybe for one or two days in a refrigerator. But they are very sweet and has to be tasted to be believed.
