Playing beauty shop and fashion show

My 4 year old niece and my 13 month old decided to play beauty shop and fashion show yesterday afternoon. My daughter was walking around my brothers house with 2 dresses on and about a dozen hair pretties. My niece put several things in her own hair as well. She made herself more of a clothes hanger than anything though. She was walking around the house with clothes all over her. It was cute. Do you have kids who do fashion shows and play beauty shop? Do you remember doing this as a kid?

I've got 2 sons. My older one likes to dress up..and is always looking for opportunities to do so. I let him indulge once in a while...especially since we have a festival when he has to dress up as a particular God on that day.
When I was younger, I remember playing beauty shop and doing fashion shows with my sister. We'd pull out all our mother's stuff (which she had lots of) and dress up and strut around. We had lots of fun...but our mother hated the cleaning up she had to do later.

i never play this game before when i was a kid as long as i can remember... i play cooking, barbie doll, stickers and stamps with my neighbours... but not beauty shop and fashion show as i don't have many nice clothes anyway... take care and have a nice day...

Very cute. No, I never dressed up as a kid. Then again, I'm a boy -- so that shouldn't be much of a surprise. Occasionally, in college and later life, I would hear stories about sisters dressing up their baby brothers. (Shudder) At least I wasn't scarred in that way as a kid.

I sure do! My cousins and I would play dress up all the time when we were little. We would wear our parents and grandmother's old house dresses and hats. My mom had a fake fur shawl she would always let us use. We would do our hair, put on some of my mom's make up. We thought we were really something special LOL. I wish I had pics of us all dressed up llike that.
