adding adsense to your blog...

we all know adsense right, its a google based ads which we can add to our blog or website to earn extra revenue. my dilemma is this... i recently sign-up to an adsense account and just receive an email saying my application has been approved. i was so happy with the news and started to familiarize myself with the adsense feature. i was done generating an adsense code and is ready to put it into my blog. the problem is i don't know where to put the code and how to do it. is there anyone here who is a member of adsense, can you tell me how to put the code to my site in order for the ads to be seen, did you manually put it or someone else did that for you? please please, i need help...i really want to earn through Google adsense.
