My mother-in-law is cool. She is my friend, a confidante, a rescuer. When I got married, my mother-in-law was my wedding coordinator/planner. She prepared everything from food to my bouquet, to chairs to give-aways. When I am having problem with his son... she is on my side. When I am homesick... she brings me to malls, fairs, grocery stores, post office, bank and everywhere she could think that will make me busy. When brought me to her hair salon and makes my hair appointment. She taught me a lot of things... like making apple pie, shepperd pie, lasagna, veggie casserole, and bet in lottery. Sometimes she has bad moods but she calms down easily. GOD BLESS MY MOTHER-IN-LAW!. What about yours?

Well, like you I am blessed with a good mother in law. My mother in law is great. She always treated me good just the way she treated my wife, her daughter. She is never biased in little fights me and my wife had. She gives us time to enjoy our relationship, learn and stand on our own. She is there to listen if I have to say something... and she respect my decision for my family. I could say that I am very lucky.

My husband is an only child so I supposed she kinda miss having their own daughter. And since I came from a different background, they see to it that I don't feel out of place. My father-in-law would even cooks the potatoes the way I like it. And I really appreciate it.

When me and hubby were dating, my mother in law hated me. Seriously. At least that was how I saw it. She kept telling my now hubby to dump me, I was a bad influence, and only wanted him to sleep with me, whatever (keep in mind I was a virgin at that point.) Fast forward, after we got married, she became so nice to me. It turns out that her first husband (my hubby's real dad) was very abusive. She was afraid that her son, my hubby, would turn out like his dad. Thank heavens he didn't. Now she is a wonderful mother in law, and awesome grandmother to my kids. :O) Wouldn't trade her for the world.

I believe people change. And sometimes first impression is not lasting too. Thanks.

My mother-in-law likes me too but we don't get a lot of time together. She is always busy running the store and I seldom visit her because I am always busy in front of the PC. But whenever we see each other, it's just like the usual relationship between a blood related mother and daughter, no sharp edges or whatever. She is also a nice lady just like my own mom but only a bit silent.

That's nice. I don't have any family here, they are all in the Philippines and both my parents passed away years ago so my in-laws are not my family.
