If you want to say something belongs to other person you can say your like: Your hair, Your car, your discussion "You're" and "You are" have the same meaning. Some people also say You r as a shortcut because r is pronounced as "are" so when you read the word "you r" then you will have said "you are" and some people doN't but the space between them and they mean "you are" by saying "your" instead of "you r"

Hi, Mahesh2008. "Your" is a possessive pronoun. It is followed by anything owned by that person being addressed to by the speaker(usually the one you are talking to. For example, since I'm talking with you, instead of saying Mahesh2008's mother, I'll just say, "your mother". But for the word "you're" it's just a contraction or a shortened form of "you are". I can say both "You're my friend." and "You are my friend". When you are writing a formal document, never use "you're" but use the long form or it. To give another example to the word, "your", I may say, "I am your friend."

okay you're is a contraction, that means it is just an abbreviated form of you are, you're or you are means the same thing. Your has to do with something that belongs to you, for example your coat, your attitude, your ability to do math problems, your life etc. you are or you're is about you, not something that belongs to you example you are a nice person, you're a nice person, you are happy to see me at this moment, you're happy to see me at this moment that is example of your emotions (your in this sense is because it belongs to you your emotions) you are is a state of mind, or a fact, you are 18 years old, you're 18 years old, but I love your smile (something that belongs to you) you are reflections the whole person not just one thing that belongs to the person, like your emotions, your emotions is not everything about the person just one thing, You the person, is always the focus of you are for example You are the apple of my eye, the love of my life, the person I want to be with the rest of my life.

Sure that is pretty easy. You're is a contraction of you are. Your is possessive like your dog. Hope that helps.

Sorry, but just wanted to fix one thing. "You're welcome" instead of "Your welcome" as it means "You are welcome". :o) All the rest was correct, right on the spot though.

Your as in "Your paper is due tomorrow" You're as in "You're going to have to pass that test tomorrow" You are as in "You ARE going to have to pass that test tomorrow or I'm gonna have to slap you senseless."

Your is possessive - meaning it belongs to "you" go get your keys.... it does not follow the rules of possessive case, however, because it does not have the apostrophe. You're is a contraction for you are. the A was removed and an apostrophe took its place - you're and you are are the same thing. you've is a contraction for you have you'll is a contraction for you will

Your means that "belonging to you"; "done by you" ;or "made by you". You're means "you are" You are - means you I do not know if that answers your question but I tried my best to.
