My local town is a coastal resort that is popular with tourists that visit in the summer months. I think the best thing about it is the coastal promenade with views out to a couple of islands and the Welsh coastline. I like to walk on the historic pier and see lovely coastal views and up to the woods. What do you like abut your local town? What sort of things to do enjoy doing there? Thanks.

I live in a huge city (Los Angeles) so I really can't pick one thing, there are tons of great things to do here. :O) I personally enjoy visiting one of the many beaches, visiting the museums, and walking the botanical gardens.

The first time I went to Los Angles I was there for 10 days and there were loads of things to see. I liked Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Disneyland and Universal Studios.

I too am lucky like you to live in a coastal town and the thing I enjoy most is walking along the beach no matter what the weather, a nice hot sunny day is the best though. We are at the start of the Jurassic coastline so there are many intersting rocks and rock pools to explore one end of the beach where it starts. Ellie :D

In winter there are no tourists around and so the beach is often empty. Sometimes m dogs like to run on the sandy beach. I am glad that you don't let the weather bother you. The Jurassic coastline is stunningly beautiful. From the Sub Tropical Garden of Abbotsbury I saw the amazingly pretty coastline. I like to go to Weymouth for the day in the summer on a nice warm day.

I live in a large city that has many activities year round. One event that attracts people from around the world is our strawberry festival, which is held in May. Its a chance to eat strawberries in so ways and many of the schools and small clubs set up booths to earn money. We have lovely beaches that people can stroll and do on weekends. I like to take the scenic trails to explore and find its a fun way to spend an afternoon. Magic Mountain isn't far from me, so if I want to visit an amusement park, then that is the one I take friends that visit from other parts of the country. Right next door, is a water park, so if the person is going to be here several days, then we can do both. We have 2 large malls, so shopping isn't a problem. There is a wide range of stores, so we should be able to find anything. I do on occasion window shop, as its fun to see new shops.

Hi, I've stayed in your home town, I really liked it and the people where so friendly. I had 2 hens with me when I visited and one of them escaped. So, I started knocking on doors asking to look in peoples' gardens, well a lot of people all came out and started looking for the hen as well and soon we found it. In my home town the best thing to do is go to the beautiful woodland, I either walk there with my dogs or horse ride. There is also a ruin of a castle but we are nearly as far from the sea as you can be in UK. all the best urban

I always thought that my town is the most boring of all... we don't have a beach nor any historical place to go to... but during the past few years... malls started to arise... not the very big ones... but those that are quite nice to go to... with movie houses... nice restaurants... and with shows for kids and adults alike... So i guess, for now, that is the most enjoyable thing in my town... but traffice became worst because of that...

I live in a same town and there is nothing here to do. If I want to do anything I need to drive and that is a pain. I like the coast but I dont live anywhere near it today. I live in the midwest.

Sadly there is nothing to do in our town. There used to be some lovely country areas to walk in but most of these now have houses built on them. Some of the towns around where I live have historic buildings which I like to visit. I also enjoy canal walks.

Our local town is just a bulk standard every day shopping place, with a big indoor shopping complex which I don't like because I find it overbearing, stuffy and claustophobic, we have all the amenities, it has two railway stations, massive library, but sadly not it's own hospital, typical government closed it down and knocked it down and made fancy flats out of the space which cost an absolute fortune! It's within 20 minute walk from my own, there are buses but I always walk. It costs £2 to get into the town. I just go there to buy my fruit from the stalls, go to the bank and have a lot round the dvd stores.

Oh just wrote an article about our town. We actually live in the desert but we have three lakes close by. These are absolutely gorgeous. It was funny, when we first moved here I wondered why my neighbors had boats and jet skis. The wind here feels very much like ocean breezes. It's wonderful unless of course they start travelling over 100mph. We also have natural forests to the right of us. And there are wonderful hiking trails. The winter brings snow and it's really fun to just go to the quaint little country stores and go shopping. Also, we have a natural amphitheater called the Ramona Bowl. We have America's longest-running play performed over there--The Ramona Pageant. It's a look into the lives of early Californians. Our local Saboba Indian Casino also provide entertainment, but I haven't been there yet. We are visited by lots of bands including the Eagles etc. That's my town. It's pretty fun. Not a lot of people but I guess we do get the tourist now and again.

Your town sounds lovely. I can very much see myself living somewhere like that one day. I like nothing about the town I live in, in fact as the years have gone on I have grown to hate it more and more. When I first moved here it was a nice place and it had so much potential to grow into something lovely, but the local council have not got a clue and they are slowly running it into the ground. There are loads of shops and they consist of hairdressers, kebab houses and chippies, pubs and charity shops there are no decent shops at all. If anyone does open a decent shop they are lucky if it lasts a year because no likes change where I live. There is no where to take the kids as everything is miles away and the buses are terrible and I dont drive yet so when my husband is at work I am stuck! The only good thing about the town I live in is my younger childrens primary school, its fantastic and one of the best schools around the area.
