If you are a teenager what will you miss? I miss having the friends I use to know and the fun and mischief we use to get up to. How about you?

I miss my Sundays as a teenager. My best friend and I used to go to the nearest station, to catch the 11 a.m. train to Brighton... now a city but then, our biggest, close, seaside town. We'd arrive in Brighton and walk down from the station, to the Clock Tower, and just east of the clock tower was the News Theatre. This cinema showed all cartoons, like Bugs Bunny, Silvester and Tweetie Pie, etc., etc. We'd watch the programme through, which lasted around two hours. Then we'd make our way to the sea front. There, we'd buy a sandwich or a tray of chips and a cup of tea, for our lunch and sit on the beach, eating it. After lunch, we'd go the few yards to the Sports Stadium, where there was an ice rink. We'd hire our skates and spend the afternoon ice skating. That was fun, and the session finished at around 5 p.m. Back to the seafront cafe, and another bit and a drink, on the beach. Then, back to the Sports Stadium to queue up for the ice hockey match which started at 7.30 p.m. We had a great time at the match... Brighton Tigers were our team, and we thorough enjoyed the match, which ended at around 10.10 p.m. Our train didn't leave until 11.08 p.m., so halfway up the main street to the station, just past the clocktower, we'd drop into the Regency Ballroom, for a few dances. At that time, March of the Mods, the Locomotion and the Twist were popular. I remember the ballroom floor used to be springy, so we'd get out there and join in all the modern dances. Then at about 10.50 p.m. we'd make our way back to the station for the train home. I loved my Sundays with Janette, my friend, and I'll never forget them. Brightest Blessings my friend and thanks for the memories. x

I am not a teenager, but I miss the freedom I had. Going out with friends, no bill responsibility, etc. I also miss the friends I had, compared to the one's I have now. Not as many. Have a great day

I agree. I don't have as many friends now that I did back in school, however I managed to get in touch with a few old school friends and we keep in touch regularly now. Happy Easter!

I think I missed everything about it, mine is not that fun but I did enjoyed the teenage life. I miss the fun of studying, building friendships and keeping it stronger, this was also the time where I relied on friends through trusts and be trusted as well. Having fun and being mischievous is really a part of growing, I also earned and give some respect on other people during this time. But the one that I missed the most was the Prom Night, I didn't got the chance to participate on it for I was sick (if I remembered that correctly) and the following year was that my parents cannot afford the budget for it since we're in the middle of a family crisis back then.

That's alright, I also heard to my friends and classmates the next school week that our Prom didn't turn out to be good also. But somehow, I just thought of participating in it since that is a once in a lifetime experience.

Aww I'm sorry you never got to go to your school prom raijin. If it's any consolation I did got to one but did not enjoy it. I don't know why, but I cut my hair short before that day and I looked terrible in my haircut and my partner for the prom did not like it at all. I don't know what made me have it all cut short :(

I miss the fact that your friends were always around and you could call and hang out with no worries. The fact you had no bills to worry about, no kids etc. I really miss those days. However I do love my daughter and the new things that come along with parenting. But back then you were just so free and worryless.

that is so true steffyhoney - and not only that time went by so much slower back then - somehow we were able to go to school, do homework, get chores done and still have time to hang out with friends - get a shower and in bed by curfew.

I had the most serious case of acne, so I did not miss that, but I was way slimmer. I used to be 115 lb. and I sure missed that. Now I am 213 lb. so I gained almost one hundred pounds in the meantime. Oh to be young and slim once more! I never was one for fun or mischief, but I did miss going the the exhibition, trying to ice skate and did I tell you, I was a very good bowler?

Good bowler huh? I'm terrible at bowling. As for the size I agree with you there. I know I was a lot slimmer because I played sports all the time. I have put on weight but that's ok. I'm working on losing it :)

What I miss most is dressing up in fun...funky clothes. When you're a teenager people would just say it's the "in" thing or it's just a phase but when you're old and wear fun and funky clothes you're delusional or you're a mental case. Isn't that unfair I mean how come teenagers should have all the fun in wearing clothes and we should just be...simple? That's what I miss most about being a teenager. But there is one other thing that I miss...a non-stressful life...when you're a teenager all you have to think of is finish school...do well in school...have fun...whereas being an adolescent would mean a lot of responsibilities. Sometimes I just wish I was still a teenager.

being a teenager was fine, but i can't feel any drastic difference even now...as i am 20. well, my teen years weren't anything great or special, was just studying like i am now, and i don't know, maybe ten years down the lane i might realise that life was indeed a lot of fun, but that wouldn't be cause it was indeed fun, it would just be cause after ten years i will be having ten times more problems and stress as i am having now. so i guess its all interrelated and comparative. if one wants, one can have his or her best days of life at any stage, age has got nothing to do with it!

I think I just miss the times when I could chill a little more. But It is all good you know. I had so much fun, but now I am enjoying more of the freedom now. So I really can not complain too much about myself you know. So really there is nothing much I can complain about!!!!1

what one thing i would miss in my teenage life? well.. i would say i would miss a lot of things.. I'd miss all my friend whom i used to hangout with, laught with, share my sorrows and joy... sometimes i wish that i would never grow up and become an adult and just stay as a teenager for the rest of my life... All those moments that was so.. so... unforgettable, the experiences that changed my life... All those whom i trusted, and bonded with.. and all the people i've met before i became who i am today.. There's always an age where u would like to stay forever, and that is being a teenager... T_T It's sad to think bout all those years.. the tears of joy... the people you might not see again.. But being an adult is nice too but.. being a teenager is far more better than being a grown up.. T_T

I missed being scolded by my father because of arriving at home morning or maybe the other day already. hehe. Teenager's life is full of adventure and gimmicks. That's what I missed the most.

The thing I miss the most about being a teenager is having NO RESPONSIBILITIES. I mean, the most important thing that you had to worry about was studying for a test. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade my life now for my life back then...but things were definitely a lot easier back then. :)

I agree biwasaki. Most of those who responded said having no responsibilities other than school work and such was a good thing. Thanks :)

can I state two things? I miss the carefree time with friends and the confident security I felt in my parents care. I think I shall always miss these things. sometimes I feel like I am still a teen and just want to go home to have Daddy take care of me again.

I do know what you mean. My second eldest brother and I were the last ones to leave the nest and the security and having not much responsibility when we were that age was just wonderful. Even though my parents moved overseas, I had to grow up quickly and start being more responsible, however it didn't quite work out the way I had wanted it, but such is life. I do miss my friends though and have been fortunate to meet up with a few online.

I miss a lot of it. Specialy tiem when were at school and having fun or went to some trip, concert with my friends, having just fon and not care for other troubles like I have now and have to deal with. You know just life with those all little problems, what seems so big in that time.
