thats really in my questioning at this moment since everything getting higher price in my country. starting from the price of basic foods as like rice, sugar, eggs, meat and going to soybean, wheat flour, cooking oil, gas, kerosine which stil going to increase day by days. now in the next month our electricity bill gonna raise up again and the fuel already increasing again. my government claim that these matter arise caused of unstable supply and demand food internationally which also caused of the increasing of world oil pricing. its little bit nonsense in my opinion, cause although the world oil getting increased which already on $113 per barel (if i don't mistake), the government should able to manage the food price locally remembering my country is great food producing in few years ago. so would you share in here how is your economic situation that you face in your country? i just curious to know more about this issue

as gas prices rise so will every thing else. Not that we dont have the food products it just costing more in gas to get it to us. I do beleive they need to put a stop to the rise of gas prices and put it back down to like some where $50 a barrel and then every thing else would go down again and put a freeze on gas and oil right there and the money mongors wouldnt have those houses that lok like motels!

i think this is happening more or less everywhere in the world. even in singapore it's happening too. not only food, but transport bill is going up too. but flour and all, i understand that due to weather conditions, not enough is being produced. thus, the first things here to go up was for bread, flour and noodles which make use of wheat and all. after that, the us economy started going downhill and food prices is going down, and the transport here is going up too simply due to shortage of oil also. i think it's more or less due to rising oil prices that others are rising too though this might not be the only reason. as for the prices coming down, i don't see it happening soon yet. last i heard from the newspapers here was that the oil price would still rise and definitely be above 100 a barrel or something. though not too sure how it is now.

Prices in USA are skyrocking. Food is very expensive and prices are growing almost overnight. I was shopping on Saturday. Bread $4.25 (whole grain), rolls $.50 each... I am not going to break more prices. Same items used to cost $3.20 and $.3 less than year ago. I am going to start my own garden this spring....

government explanation really sucks when it comes to the increasing price of everything in our country. here in our place the price of every commodity is sky rocketing, even jeepney or bus fare is increasing and increasing every now and then since drivers are conducting different rallies and strike to make the fare increase,. like you i don't believe that it has something to do with the oil price hike in the world market because when the oil price in the world market decreases why on earth does our local market retains their high price.

Hi there... Here in New Zealand its not too bad yet, but as for the petrol thats getting ridiculously insane, especially when you drive a V8... The food here is not too bad, but there are some basic foods that have had a price rise... I think its a good thing if you know how to utalise foods, especially from the sea, but foods that are still affordable, we may all have to get use to making nourishing authentic food, like battered mussels, or seafood chowders and the like... Look have a great day...

Hello dear plumwish. I have to say that it is the same case here in China. Everything is on the rise and it is hard for the price to be on the low side once it is rising. In fact, our salary is relatively getting lower when the price for everything is getting higher and higher. I hate it when the price is so high and we do not get our salary a rise. Many people are complaining about this abnormal situation. I am wondering what could be the cause to it in the hope that our life will come back to our good old days before the price for everything got higher and higher. Thanks.

it may happen in your country. In my country what we are currently experiencing that there are lot of demand for petroleum products and the prices of liquid petroleum increasing by leaps and bounds.otherwise supply for food is enough i guess.
