Do you ever use those oven roasting bags? You know the ones that you can roast a turkey or a big pot roast in? Have you ever tried the crock pot ones. I am using an oven cooking bag in my crock pot. I have used the crock pot ones before and like them. I have bad hands and sometime trying to wash up the crock pot ofter using it is very hard for me. I am fixing chicken thighs and I'm going to cover them with Progresso chicken cheesey enchalada soup when they are about half done. I love this soup.

Yes, I have used the oven roasted bags before. I absolutely love them. To me, it helps keep the savoring flavors. It also helps in tenderizing the meat and speeds up the cooking time. Or so I seem to find.

Your right it does seem to make the meat more tender. Have you tried the ones for the crockpot?

I use them for my turkeys in the oven. I have never used one in a crock pot. Never heard of using one in a crock pot. I would just think it would be more of a hassle to put it in something so small compared to the oven. That chicken sounds really good.

I have used the oven bags before and like them. I haven't used the crock pot ones, my aunt and uncle do and they are great. I have a slow cooker that is non stick and the base easily goes in the sink for washing up, so I don't use the bags. Your dinner sounds good.

Yes I thought that chicken thighs with cheesy chicken soup sounded good. The cheesy soup is very good. My crock pot lift out of the frame or base too but since my hands are so bad I find it difficult to wash around the pot part, so now hopefully all I have to do is rinse it out.

I've never used them personally before, but I have seen them used by others before. That really sounds good what you made in the crock pot with chicken and the soup. Sounds a lot better than the baked potato that I just had for dinner.

I have never used a bag for cooking like that. I never heard of it. Sounds good to keep the moisture in.

Gee, I didn't have a clue that you could use those things in a crock pot!! I'll have to get some and try them. I have rheumatoid arthritis, and I find cleaning that heavy old crock pot is very hard to maneuver in the sink. I'm thinking this could be a really great idea you hit on. I've never gotten those oven bags before, guess I had it in my brain that if I left it in too long it might catch on fire or something lol. I've seen the oven ones, but I wasn't aware that they had crock pot ones too. Guess I learned something today and I have YOU to thank for it. Anything to make the cooking I love (and the clean up) go easier, I'm not going to give it up because I'm gettin' old and gnarly and can't lift as much hahaha. Yum, that chicken sounds delish!!

Thanks for starting this discussion, this is really going to help! Sorry to hear you have it too, I find I'm having to learn how to do all kinds of things in a different and easier way. Thanks for sharing! May God bless :-)

I too have rheumatoid arthritis and have trouble lifting any thing that is heavy as those crock pot are. This is a great help. If you can't find those made for the crockpot cut the oven ones in half. They are the right size then. The chick turned out pretty good. I'm having the one that was left ove tonigh over some rice.

I have never used them but those crock pot one sure do look nice. It would be alot easier to clean up the crock pot if all you had to do was remove the bag and just wipe down the crock pot instead of srubbing the food that has cooked into the sides.

I have used them before and I had forgotten that I had them until just a little bet ago. They are very nice for easy clean up since I have very bad hands. I only had an oven one so I cut it in half and it fit fine.
