Is there really an acne pill?

A friend of mine said theres an acne pill that gets rid of acne for sure. But only certain people can take it as it makes you worse if your a depressed person etc. I was wondering how can I get it? Has any of you ever taken it? And does it really work?

Wow your up to 313 by your name thats awesome! I have noticed an increase in pay so I will have to start getting more things written on here soon! You pill your talking about is acutane. It can cause depression so if you have a history of depression the doctors dont like to give it to you. I have known people who took it and they are ok. I think its also supposed to cause liver damage or something sometimes!

There are two. If ou have really sever painful acne, there is a medication called Acutane that helps with that. I'm not really sure how it works, but i know it has side effects, that include you skin becomeing so dry that it hurts while you are taking the medication. So be sure it's necessary before you take it. The other is birth contol pills. If you just have superfiscial acne, which it more just the surface of the skin and isn't really painful, birth control can help by regulateing your hormones, so you will break out less.
You should go talk to your doctor about both options and see what they recommend.

Thanks for the answer. I marked you as best responce. I have been on the depo shot for almost 4 years now and I know that is one small reason why I have some acne. I dont have like the severe kind but I hate what I do get it drives me nuts and ive tried almost every cream product but that just dont work and it gets expensive. Thanks again.

Thanks for the best response. I don't know if depo and pills have the same effect on the skin. I've heard that depo is bad for your hair. Have you tried Tea Tree Oil? If not try that. Its an oil so you can only use it as night cause its shiny and you cant put makeup over it, and it stinks and is kind of expensive but it works. Just dab it on to breakouts and it will help. It's srtong though so if you have sensitive skin it might cause some redness at first, but that should go away by morning.

i am living my life and i dont belioeve at the sleeping pills or any other type of relaxing pinms. i try to live calm and in sakoon so i am living fine.

I think it is depending on the type of your acne. If your acne is genetic or hormonal, then taking hormone control pill will help. And if your acne is caused by the weather or the environment, I think by washing your face regularly will do just fine.
