If you only had 5 hours to spend in manhattan, where would you spend the time?

What would make the biggest impression of the real NYC by visiting for just a little while

I would say take a short cruise and go see the Statue Of Liberty, when you get back to Manhattan visit China Town and Little Italy, stop at the Empire State Building, go upstairs to the top observation deck and you can see the whole city, then go over to Rockefeller Center - great site seeing area, then visit Broadway and Times Square. You will really have a great 5 hours.

That sounds like something I'd have fun doing. I'd probably say to heck w/ the 5 hour schedule and make it a day though. Sounds like a blast! :)

YEAH, I'm only 5-6 hours away. I've driven past and seen the skyline at night (on my way to Philly) but never been in the city.

Shopping. Forget all that tourist stuff. I was born and raised in the Bronx!!! First off I'm in the village for clothes, couple down low sneaker spots. Maybe 34th street. 42nd. Have to stop and get a hot pretzel with mustard (or 7). I could do all that in a few hours and still head Uptown to Sylvia's for a meal.

I would spend the 5 hours taking the long route and driving around Manhattan (in other words, I would drive further to avoid driving thru NYC) We went through a few years ago on a business trip and we vowed "Never Again". Sorry Carmeta!

Since I grew up in NYC and only moved away in my late 30's, I love many parts, but Broadway and Times Square area, plus Greenwich Village are my faves. I used to study with the Joffrey Ballet, so spent a lot of time in the Village. Central Park is nice, too, but now that I live in the country, I get more green these days! But I do NY!

I would want to go see a Broadway play.I have seen many plays when they come here to Rhode Island but it isn't the same as seeing them on Broadway.I would also have to visit the Saint Patrick's cathedral I hear it is very beautiful.I am not much of a church goer but I find being in a church very relaxing.

Doing all of these would take longer than 5 hours, but here's some of the things I'd like to do: -Stroll through Central Park -See a Broadway show (I'm normally not a fan, but I might as well see one on the actual Broadway!) -Attend a talk show taping -Visit the World Trade Center site, the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty I'd also set aside time to eat at a fancy restaurant and maybe go shopping.
