Do you think police officers should be allowed to use steroids?

In the Jersey City, NJ police department, up to two dozen police officers were put on desk duty and several had their guns taken away because it was discovered that they had been prescribed steroids, which were prescribed by a doctor who had been under investigation by the DEA when he died. They obtained the steroids through a mafia-linked pharmacy in Brooklyn, which has come under recent scrutiny because of the recent discovery that several NYPD officers had been improperly prescribed steroids from there. Steroids can cause great aggression, uncontrollable anger, mood swings, depression, paranoia, dizziness, hallucinations, and other health problems which might particularly interfere with a police officer's high-pressure, volatile job. Do you think that police officers should be allowed to use steroids? Do you feel there's any reason to prohibit them? Would you feel unsafe, knowing that an officer in posession of a gun had been using steroids?

Heck no, I don't want a police officer allowed to be on steroids. Some of them already abuse the "power" of being a cop. And those that don't are under alot of stress that comes with the job. Steroids are not good for anyone as there are such terrible side effects. PEACE

I think this sounds a bit ridiculous - we do not allow our athletes to use steroids, I do not think it is appropriate for them to be "above the law" and use them themselves. Not to mention steroids cause high aggressiveness in someone - this can really put themselves and others in danger! I am glad they suspended the offending officers appropriately!
