Do you say thank you when you received a best response?

I have received best response for several times recently, but I haven't say thank you to some of them yet due to my posting problem. I feel that I am impolite if I never say a word to them. Today I am very happy and feel relaxed as I could post out my words to say thank you to my friends who have rewarded me the best response. Now I am continuing to post some few words to thank them for thier appreciation. By the way I hope I could refresh and reanimate their old discussions. Do you like you old discussion to be reanimated? Do you feel happy if you receive a best response? How do you feel, if you receive a best response in a discussion that you are the only person who responds it? What would you do if you receive a best response?

I say thank you to a BR only when there is a comment with it that I can reply to. I used to just post a thank you earlier...but then I realized it is against the myLot rules. Sometimes, I get a BR with no comment at all...then I just let it go....unless I have something more to add to my previous response. lol...I've got BRs for a few discussions where I was the only person to respond. I don't mind it...because the person who started it had no other choice.

On occassion, I have given BRs without any comments while I have commented on other responses for the same discussion. That is when the response is too good to even get a comment...and anything I say will be blabbering. It's just my way of saying 'Well said...I couldn't have said it better myself'...which sounds like a cliche.

Hi SViswan, soo...whisper, yesterday when I wrote comment for one of my reanimated old discussion I did find I had given a BR without any comment on it. I felt rather sorry for been discourteous for doing that. I wonder whether it is proper for me to add any comment to it now.

Hi Sviswan, it is quite reasonable that if we don’t say thank you to someone who gives only a BR without any comment on it. Yeah, yon make me to recall that I did receive several BR with no comment on it at all, but I found there are comments on the rest of the responses. Even though I felt a bit depressed when seeing this, I still say some words to thank them. So do I as well, I did come across occasions when I received BR for the discussion when I was the only person to response. I always regard this as something to be happy with, as I am the only one who is interested and willing to answer the post.

Hello dear lkbooi. It is my practice to say 'thank you for the best response' when I find that I have received one. I always feel so happy to get it, which shows that my response is somewhat to the point of the discussion and could offer some helpful information to the person who gives me the best response. Every day I would like to check if there is another best response coming for me to express my great gratitude. In fact, I am grateful already when I am responding to a discussion who donates it to us. Of course I am very happy to have my old discussions to be activated in the presence of my friends because many of my discussions have not received many responses, especially those which were posted at the very beginning of my joining mylot. I think that it owes a lot to my lack of friends then that made them like sleeping beauty somewhere in the deep forest, which are still looking forward to their princes. Smiling. Thanks very much for your nice discussion, my dear elegant lkbooi.

Hi dear jisir, I am very happy to have you to drop by here. From the words in your many posts, I could really feel that you are a perfect gentleman who always entertains everyone here with great sincerity. I believe you have received lots of best responses as you always try to offer some helpful and valuable information to the person who have honored you the best response. I agree that to receive a best response could motivate us to move further on with more energetic mood. I always feel the sense of achievement when receiving any best response lol. Dear jisir, really true, lack of friends means short of responses. I greatly appreciate the analogy you had drawn between the sleeping beauty in the dark forest and your valued old discussions that still buried in those old hard days. I do hope the beauty be fascinated and admired by the prince and has a chance to show her beauty on the stage. Hehe I think it is time for me to go on horse back to roam around the dark forest to see if any missing princess there. By the way, I do have many beautiful sleeping princesses long lying in the lonely tropical forest as well, just hopping a drop of sympathetic tear to wake them up. Happy posting and bye now, my dear friend.

Hello again, dear lkbooi. Reading your response is just like appreciating a nice art and craft. I cannot help smiling for those beautiful and touching words. Yeah, I will find some time to go to the tropical forest to find my sleeping princess and wake her up if I do not forget about her. Good night and sweet dream.

I don't like when people thank me for best respond. In fact, when you thank, you bring old discussion back and new discussion most likely may not be answer or visible. I would rather send PM if you feel like you need to say thank you.... This is my view and other people may feel different way. Hugs

Hi polachicago, I like to see your different point of view on this matter. It could really make the new discussion buried and invisible. In my practice I always attach my thank you with some other comments related to the post to make it some sort like a response so as to show our sincere appreciation for it. I am the type of person who is lazy to send pm so I rather prefer to stick on in this way.

Hi dear subha12, I do hope if I have lots of chances to say thank you for receiving the best response hehe. Hi friend, I personally feel that we would hardly be contented with the amount of BR received. But anyhow, if we could share some chances of getting the BR with others who really deserve it, it is a good deed as well.

Hello lkbooi, It must be a great feeling to feel relaxed on the thought that you will not be considered impolite now! I feel the same way when I am unable to say a word of thanks! To answer your questions, I'll respond in order: 1. I personally don't like my old discussion to be reanimated but I don't mind if it does. I hope you see the difference here!? 2. I do feel happy receiving a best response because it is official approval of the poster that your response stood high, that you were able to be helpful or of some interest. The very feeling of being helpful is satisfying, not particularly the best response. 3. It depends, if I feel that poster gave me the best response just to resolve his/her discussion, I wouldn't feel happy about it at all. If, however, I see that poster really meant to give it because my response helped or was of value, then I'll feel good, maybe not as much as I would getting it among other respondents! 4. Whether or not I am feeling happy about it, I do say thanks to the poster, just because he/she took his/her time out to mark the response which shows his/her commitment, which I like to express my regard for by saying thanks!:-)

Hi kamran12, happy to have your several valued ideas here. I understand that I must bear in mind not to reanimate your old discussions, right? Anyhow I still would tempt to answer them if I come across any attractive old discussion, lol... Really, the reward of a good response could really be a moral encouragement for us. For me, I feel the achievement as a great pleasure. Naturally I do think that the main idea of giving a best response is for its actual value and not for the sake of getting off being unresolved. I always thank the poster willingly for their appreciation of my effort as well.

Yeah, kamran12, old discussions still have their value and significance irrespective of how old they are. I always find lots of interesting and valued old discussion here at mylot. I do going through to them page by page enjoy reading the topics and the responses during my leisure time. Nice to know that I could find a friend to be like minded except for reactivation of old discussion. You are most welcome and bye now.

Hello lkbooi, No!:-) as I said that though I don’t like that my discussion to be reanimated but I don’t mind either; instead, I honor the participation of anyone in my discussion, however old it is. I don’t know if I am understandable here!? In fact, it’s like, say, disliking a chair but loving the presence of your friend even if he/she chooses to sit on that chair! I hope you see from where I am coming!?:-) You are more than welcome to participate in whatever discussion you like!:-) For the rest, you and I seem to be like minded! Thank you for tolerating me!:-)

Really, if someone has just marked mine as the best response only, and didn’t add any comment in the response, I could hardly write anything further about the topic, unless I find some views in his discussion I haven’t touched when responding to him. So very often I don’t say thank you to him in return, for I feel that it’s rather strange if I just pose the couple of words “Thank You”. Yeah, everyone here has his own taste to deal with the best response received for we do not necessarily need to say Thank You to the awarder after receiving a BR. Happy posting and take care.

I usually say thank you if I get a best response. I think it's polite to say thanks for the person who liked your response and marked it as "the best response". It's really nice to get this and it is also nice to say thank you. But I don't think people must thank the member who has started the discussion. Many time I choose best response and don't get a thank you. I think it is Ok too.

Hi shay, I am glad to see another polite friend here. I believe the discussion creator would feel pleasant as well to receive the gratitude from the best response holder he had awarded earlier. The new comment with Thank You sent definitely will reactivate the discussion again and this may cause it to receive more responses later on. I guess a creator who likes to see his discussion to be reactivated again, surely will pick the one who is more than willing to say Thank You if he really comes across two of more responses which are equally good in their contents respectively. By doing so he may get more responses later on. Happy posting and good luck.

Please don't mind I don't say thank you when I receive a best response. I really appreciate to it. I don't say thank you because I have to find out my response and then reply it there. Sometimes it is not easy to find it since there are a little bit more responses there. So I leave it alone but I do thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Hi youless, true, we always miss the chance to say thank you to the awarder as we are not in time to discover the best response given to us. Sometimes I purposely go through the best responses pages just to find out those I need to express my gratitude for giving me the best responses. I found that this would be quite time consuming. So I will try to settle it once I get a best reward. I understand and really feel that even though you never say out, well, you still thank them from the bottom of your heart.

Hi jnk3dfx, we are the same type of people. Yeah, both of us like to say Thank You after receiving a best response to show our gratitude. Lol when feeling happy I always like to thanks the person who brings the cheerfulness to me. I hope he or she would feel happy as well to see the discussion to be reactivated again and could attract more responders to participate in it. We have to post more responses on topics that we could handle nicely we then could have more opportunities to be selected as the best writer. Really, I could imagine you could write how great amounts of posts during 2 to 3 months time. Anyway, it is right that we should put the essential things in real life as first priority. We type posts here only during our free time. Wish you all the best and happy posting.

I have sent my belated gratitude to the creator after weeks before. I agree with you that saying “thank you” is a polite manner after receiving something from others. You are still new here my1341 and have posted less than 3 hundred posts. I believe after you have posted more responses here, definitely you will get more “best responses” later on. I am certainly happy when I get a best response mark. I don't ALWAYS thank the individual but I do at least look to see if there is a comment that I can make a comment to as well as saying thank you. I don't check my best responses very often and then find I have too many to look at to respond to all of them. Usually I look to see if a comment has been made or to remind myself of what my response is. Surely, it will bring the discussion up to the forefront. I have received a very few thank yous for giving best response marks. That does not prevent me from giving them though.

Yeah, patgalca, I too don’t like to just say only thank you in a post. I like to read the comment and share my views with the awarder. Just like you I seldom check my best responses pages so after sometimes there are pages of best response accumulated and this need much time to post our appreciation to every awarder. We mark a best response is not hoping for people to say thank you but he deserves to be awarded, right?

I don't thank them, since it is our responsibility to resolve our discussions. I might just go back to that post and rate it positively, that's my own version of saying thanks. Knowing that I've given my opinion about the subject and be chosen as the best response is a reward given to us, for the efforts we've made and for putting up a very wonderful thought about the topic.

It all depends on whether I get back to that discussion. Most of the time, I am busy responding and posting. It is not about impoliteness, it is about time. Unlike many here, I do not have an outside job, and myLot is not a pastime. If I get back to their post and see that I have the 'best response' given, then I will thank them, but I will not go out of my way. I even find it difficult to give comments, as I tend to go on and on and on or there are so many of them. I would rather there were more people who responded. I never give a best response to the only one who responded to my discussion and I think if I were the only person who responded and got the best response, what are they thinking? I am not that good!

Hi suspenseful, I agree, most of the time we are busying in responding and commenting and don’t have spare time to check the best responses pages, and to say thank you as well. I understand that if we want to express our gratitude to every awarder would really take us plenty of time. So it is mainly because of time but not impoliteness. Sometimes it is really difficult for me as well to spare extra time to say thank you for every best response received.

For your questions first, ikbooi, here are my answers: 1. I like someone to reanimate some of my old discussions that still needs more information. I've got four discussions dating back months ago, that seems to be incomplete. 2. I feel happy when I receive a best response. Because it makes me think that my response contributed the most to the subject of the posted discussion. 3. I can't help but smile a bit to this question. The reason it's called best response, is that it was chosen among the many. And yet, a single response will get the title. I won't do anything at all. But honestly, I won't be happy with it. Lately, I don't thank the one who gave me a best response through the same discussion. I PM them and I think that way, thanking them seem more special.

Hi jicj, we are in the same group who like someone to reanimate our old discussions. Yeah, I do regard a discussion to be incomplete if it couldn’t draw more information. I would like to have a look on them during my leisure to see whether I could contribute any information. I think everyone here would surely feel happy if his response is marked as a BR. This shows that our contribution is appreciated. Smiling, best means one among the three, right! Anyhow I still feel happy as no one dares to challenge with us, kidding. You are more diligent, my dear fried but I am bit lazy to send any pm. I rather prefer to add some more comments and say thank you by the way.
