I know i know it is like saying how long is a piece of string but how long was yours? Did it last until just after the wedding on do you still think it is going on now? i think all marriages take a bit of a dip but most will survive if they mantain this period.

I doubt if we will have this "honeymoon period". We're already adjusted to each other, not infatuated or starry-eyed anymore. We've already lived together for a year, so I think we've worked out a lot of those "first year is the hardest" type kinks so I doubt if much of anything will change after the actual wedding.

Its good that you have managed to adjust and know each other weaknesses and bad habit before getting married. But I think honeymoon doesnt mean that lovey dovey starry eyed feeling , but its more the romance, the closeness and the commitment you feel towards each other.. Even if you are not lovey dovey, there are still tenderness and love in the relationship :)

That part should never go away. I honestly don't understand the point of a loveless marriage. I wouldn't waste my life with unhappiness like that.

I havent been married before, will get married later on in July. But I think honeymoon period should last the entire marriage life. What I meant is of course not the honeymoon holiday, but the way you interact with each other during that time, the romance, the closeness that you share, the feeling that "together you can conquer the world" etc... My parents told me, the courting period or dating period and honeymoon period didnt stop just after the wedding party if we want the marrriage to survive. It is very important for married couples to spend time together, special times, and recharged their love and closeness every once in a while :)
